What a great day in the inter-coastal waterways in Coastal Georgia. My husband Conrad and I took our first day in so long we don't remember but the jet skis were calling our name. Along the banks you see wildlife of all kinds.
The weather was great and it takes about 45 minutes from our launch to get to Bird Island. This small island is almost completely covered at high tide year round. And as you see, there is really nothing on the island except birds and shells.

Glynn County has a very diverse economy made up of tourism, a growing port facility, a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, 4 year college, technical school, industrial plants and a healthy mix of retirees. The area enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate. The average temperature is 68.4 degrees and average rainfall of 54.7 inches per year. Although I did not have time to enjoy any of the festivities this weekend for the Blessing of the Fleet cemeremonies and activities, I did stop on my way to work and snap a few photographs to post. This is the fountain in the square in downtown Darien where the vendors were set up for Art in the Park.

Vendors had these great old oak trees offering shade during this event. It was a beautifully sunny day with a nice breeze.
