Children of all ages enjoy Summer Waves.....the 11 acre water park on Jekyll Island, Georgia. 

The Frantic Atlantic Wave Pool offers up waves all day long.  Enjoy the Frantic Atlantic Wave Pool, the length of a football field.

Take a slow ride around the Summer Waves on The Turtle River.  This 1/2 mile river allows you to view the park on a float at the slow pace of 3 miles per hour.....a great start or end to a day.  Towering 5 stories above above The Turtle River is The Pirates Passage Inner Tube Ride.

Although I did not have time to enjoy any of the festivities this weekend for the Blessing of the Fleet cemeremonies and activities, I did stop on my way to work and snap a few photographs to post.  This is the fountain in the square in downtown Darien where the vendors were set up for Art in the Park.

Vendors had these great old oak trees offering shade during this event.  It was a beautifully sunny day with a nice breeze.

Major Pierce Butler (the third son of an Irish baronet) came to America and married Mary Middleton of South Carolina.  Butler's sell of his military commission was used to purchase several plantations in South Georgia including Butler Plantation approximately 1 mile south of Darien Georgia.
Major Butler left this property not to his children, but his grandchildren if they would change their last name to Butler.  So Pierce (Mease) Butler ended up with title to this property that had been cultivated with dikes and canals for the purpose of growing rice.

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.  So I am offering to you thousands of words that say Brunswick and the Golden Isles of Georgia is a great place to live, work and play.

A stroll on the beach of Jekyll Island.  (They say once your feet have touched the sands of Jekyll Island, you will always return). 

Our state tree - the beautiful live oaks that are shown here are located on the road to Jekyll Island's historic district.  My drive to work includes river, marsh and thousands of acres of protected ecosystem.

Jekyll Island is a barrier island off the coast of Georgia and is known as one of the Golden Isles of Georgia.  The road leading to the Jekyll Island Club and historic district is lined with beautiful live oak trees. 

 The Jekyll Island Club Hotel was originally a hunting retreat built in 1888 for families such as the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, J.P. Morgan and the Astors.  Later abandoned, the Jekyll Island Club was restored to in 1986. 

Jekyll Island's 240 acres of waterfront Historic Landmark District is ongoing with the restoration of the builidings on the grounds.

Logan decided to take a day out on one of Glynn County's Golden Isles.....Saint Simons Island.There were many choices but Logan rounded up his driver/photographer and headed first to the Saint Simons Island Pier.  Logan can see Jekyll Island across the sound.  The benches look like a nice place to rest but Logan is just getting started.

There are a few people fishing and crabbing off the pier.....but no fishing for Logan today because there are other items on the agenda.

Logan contemplates while enjoying the coastal waterways......

Putt Putt Golf is an option......
