staging: Stagers, Go Green With Milk, Milk Paint That Is ! - 10/10/08 03:44 PM
As Professional Home Stagers, we do try to be as environmentally friendly or "green" as possible. In fact, Stagers always try to work with furnishings and accessories that the client already owns thus reducing waste. Today, I discovered another "green" product called Milk Paint. This is a product that we can use and recommend to our staging clients when they need rooms painted. According to the website, Milk Paint is an organic paint, non-toxic and zero VOCs. It even claims to be self-priming, providing a flat, consistent finish. It comes in dry form and does need to be mixed with water. There's (18 comments)
staging: Staging The Shower or... The Shower Curtain - 07/18/08 02:05 PM
In Home Staging, the bathroom is one of the most important rooms to stage and here on Active Rain we have some MASTER Bathroom Stagers... It's the small touches that provide that tranquil, spa-like feeling for prospective buyers. Fresh rolled towels, a fluffy robe, artwork, greenery or a simple floral will bring that "just gotta have it" look. Simple, elegant drapery panels can be used instead of a standard shower curtain like the drapes with grommets used by Jackson West from Vancouver's Reveal Estate Home Staging. Jackson also always uses beautifully wrapped soaps as props. Often when choosing a shower curtain or drape (12 comments)

I have to admit - I do love finding great fabric for decorating projects.. Primarily - I only sew now if I need unique decorative pillows, throws or window treatments for my Staging or Redesign jobs.. I had just posted a blog entry today about Cheap, (18 comments)

You guys may not be as clumsy as I am - but you probably do have a mishap now and then while staging homes... Recently, I picked up some great candle holders for a home staging project and rushed to my office to show them off... Well, in my haste - I pulled the bag out and WHAM - there they went on the pavement... UGH !!! Thankfully, they didn't break in a million pieces(composite material) and so I threw them back in the bag - thinking - I will try to glue them back together when I get a chance..Well (11 comments)

Even though I have been a lurker for quite sometime, finally my first post here on AR... I wanted to share a recent occupied staging for a beautiful home on Lake James near Morganton NC. The homeowners were exceptional clients and a dream to work with.. Their listing agent, Polly Leadbetter of Lake James Real Estate referred them to us. Then Just Heavenly Decor & Staging got to work rearranging furniture, accessorizing and bringing the major focal points into view. We (12 comments)
