Statistics for September 2007 provided another indication the real estate market continues to move away from a sellers market to a strong buyers market. The most recent report from the Metropolitan Regional Information System revealed that the number of reported units sold was 583 down 41.47% from 2006. Average and median prices were more resilient; average sales price slipped to $511,437 down 1.23% from 2006 levels.
The Olney, Maryland real estate market faired much better than others in Montgomery County, Maryland according to the report. The total units sold in 2007 increased 13.04% and days on market remain statistically unchanged in the most recent report.
