Despite another 100 plus degree day, I ventured out to get some fall plantings for my pots.  I started by going to the nearest locally owned nursery where the people are ALWAYS so helpful.
Located on Scottsdale Rd north of Pinnacle Peak, you'll find this great locally owned nursery who is just starting to get their fall plants in.  They have great ideas and are so knowledgable about how to grow in our hot, desert environment - which plants need shade, which need to be on drip irrigation, how to fertilize.

On Sunday, after venturing out in another 107 degree day to get our fall plants, we decided to go to the Silver Spur restaurant in Cave Creek, AZ for one of their club sandwiches.  The last time we went, we decided it was the best in our area.

Imagine our surprise when we pulled up and found this "new" sign out front.  We hadn't heard anything about the name change, although the local paper, the Sonoran News, did report on it changing hands.

After last call, the officer noticed a man leaving the    bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk.        The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with theofficer quietly observing. Today's front page news in "The Arizona Republic"
show that foreign buyers, in particular Canadians, are making up a large portion of the buyer pool in the US, particularly in Florida, California and Arizona.

Two of the reasons they cite are the dollars being almost equal and our low home prices - up to 50% below our peak of 2007.

One of the newer restaurants in our area is the Harvest Restaurant at the southeast corner of Pinnacle Peak and Miller Roads in north Scottsdale. 
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this really good restaurant has it all - a really neat atmosphere (worth going there just for that,) great service, a wide variety of food on the menu and, of course, good food. 
Breakfast is served from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM - perfect for the late risers. 
For lunch, you can choose soups, salads, wraps and NUMEROUS other sandwiches - I counted over 45 delicious things to choose from.

When I first relocated here to Scottsdale, AZ from St. Charles, IL, I asked a couple of people I worked with for recommendations for hair salons.  The first one was okay, but wasn't conveniently located.  The second was WONDERFUL, but only for the rich and famous.  The third guy was really good, but again, not conveniently located - over a 45 minute drive each way.  Then, I found her - THE ONE!!!!  But, oh no - she wasn't happy doing hair - had to go and have a baby - GEEZ, some people will do anything to get out of work!!!!  … (6 comments)

I'm going to try to feature at least a pool a week, if not more often.  Pools are such a part of our lifestyle here in the Arizona desert.
I came across this island gem today while searching for comps.

Do you see any arrows on FedEx's logo? I saw it a few times at other site saying that there's an arrow hidden in the FedEx arrow, but I couldn't find it. I now know where it is, it�s your turn to find.
Look closely or, maybe step back.  That's how I found it.
Don't look at the clue until you really give this a try............................
 
 
 
The clue is that the arrow is located in between the alphabet E and X, and the arrow is white, acting as a background.

I found this in the picture section of an MLS listing.  Not really sure what it is and certainly don't know why it was in the listing. 
Maybe someone with plumbing experience knows?
 

I guess this supposedly an added feature?  Otherwise, why was it in the listing.

After I previously blogged about this home, there were so many requests for a bird's eye view of the pool.  My mom, a Realtor® in Tucson sent me the original listing and we all said we wanted a bird's eye view of this pool.

Now that the Arizona weather is getting bearable again, we can actually get out and enjoy activities.
Today, we decided to take a "road trip" to personally meet one of the activerain members who was holding an open house. 
So, after finishing up the last 6 BPO's I had left for the weekend, we cleaned up, got in the car and drove about an hour over to Sun City Grand in Surprise, AZ to personally meet Leolinda Bowers at one of her open houses.

I've been invited to a great day of boating on Lake Pleasant, in Phoenix, Arizona, for Labor Day.  While I feel I'm safe with the people who invited me, I thought I'd share the statistics  of boating accidents.

Do you recognize these hounds?  Helping Orphaned Hounds is a non-kill shelter in Arizona.  The shelter is looking for the owner of these hounds.  Evidently the dog's owner received his orders for Iraq and left the dogs in care of his neighbor.   These yellow Labradors are named Wyatt and Storm.

Today I was rushing to get ready for a listing appointment and a business lunch when my phone rang. 
It was Steve Hoffacker from Activerain.  He's an ambassador here and I had asked him a question about blogging in an email.  Instead of emailing me back, he took the time to call.  Unfortunately, I had about 15 minutes to finish drying my hair, brush my teeth, let the dogs out and get in the car.  He graciously said he'd call back and we arranged a time.
