Our recent vacation to the Chicago area allowed us to stop by our son's new hot dog stand located outside Banbury Fair, across the street from the old train station in downtown Bartlett.
 
I may be slightly prejudice, but he serves the best hotdogs and brats in the midwest!!!!  On special occasions, he'll cook up burgers or a great beef sandwich.
 
If you're looking for great eats in Bartlett, Illinois, stop by Jimmy's Hey Now hotdog stand at Banbury fair.  He's there most days from 10 to 5.

Palm trees in Illinois - 06/30/11 02:09 PM
On our vacation to the Chicago area, we were treated to a great day boating on the Chain of Lakes.
 
The sky was blue, the temps were in the 80's, and the lakes were calm.
 
We stopped at "Key West in the Midwest" better known as Blarney's Island for lunch.  Now, where else can you find palm trees in Illinois!!!
 
I thought I had to stay in Scottsdale to see palm trees - WRONG!!!

On our recent vacation back to the Chicago area, the kids had this amazing snack and I'd thought I'd share it all with you.
 
Planters® has new mixes of nuts called NUT-rition®.  The two we like are the Omega 3 mix with walnuts, dried cranberries and dark chocolate covered soy nuts and the Heart Healthy Mix with peanuts, almonds, pistachios, pecans, walnuts and hazelnuts.  Get this - the heart healthy mix has only 50mg of sodium per serving (approximately 10 per can) but, I promise you, they taste just like their salted nut counterparts.

This morning, I had arranged to preview 3 homes for my Canadian buyers who are coming to look at homes for sale in Scottsdale, AZ.

Maricopa County, AZ real estate market report - an improving market - 06/06/11 06:54 PM
The Maricopa County, Arizona real estate market report for May, 2011, shows some promising information*:
SALES: 
There were 9814 recorded sales in May, up 3.5% over April and up 10% over May, 2010.  This despite last year's government tax incentive for home buyers.
 
Active Listings:
Active listings were down 9.4% on June 1 at 31,213 and 33.3% below June 1, 2010.  Of the active listings, 7,827 are under contract, leaving only 23,386 truly active listings in all of Maricopa County MLS.
