The National Flood Insurance Program expired on Sunday after the Senate failed to pass the latest temporary extension to the cash-strapped program prior to the Easter recess. One thing I know about living in Louisiana we will eat just about anything.  We might be as bad as the Japanese, I think they do eat anything.  They just don't know how to spice it up so they taste good.

The Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program (Rural Development) will be out of funds (money) by the end of April, 2010.  Unless additional funding becomes available because of area deemed a disaster area from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  Even these funds will be limited.
Rural Development loans are available for most areas North of I-12 in the Slidell area and most of Pearl River, Lacombe and Covington.  If you are on the fence you need to make a decision.  These loans are true 100% financing without any PMI payments.

Slidell's Bayou Jam Concerts | Slidell Homes for Sale - 03/12/10 07:27 AM
Slidell's Bayou Jam Concerts are back.  Starting this Sunday after the St. Patrick's Day Parade at Heritage Park.  All concerts are free admission.  Times are from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. 
This is the first of five concerts this year.

Looking for some free good clean family fun?  Look no further than Slidell's St. Patrick's Parade this Sunday at 1 p.m. in Slidell's Olde Towne.  I really don't like parades any more, but this is one my wife doesn't have to drag me to go with her. 
if you go bring a wagon with you.  You will need it to help carry home all of the cabbages, carrots and potatoes you will catch Sunday.
This is another reason to consider when looking for Real Estate for Sale in Slidell.

Any one willing to wager a guess where the three highest median income counties in the United States are located?  Seems Government workers are doing just well in our economy.  That's right the three highest median income counties in the country all border Washington D.C. 
How I wish i had taken a job with the Government when I graduated from college.  They always had an early retirement with lifetime pension and health insurance.  Now they have great pay to go along with these benefits.  The average government worker makes over $7000 more per year than a private sector worker.

for any amount of time knows this isn't anything close to a normal real estate market.  With the Federal Tax Credit for first time and repeat buyers buoying the market.  With many agents making a living on short sales and foreclosures and a much smaller percentage of the usual arm lenght transactions taking place. 
With the coming arrival of Spring and the tax credit deadline buyers are flocking to buy homes.  I wonder how much demand is being pulled forward by the rapidly approaching deadline.  What will fill the vacuum once it pasts?  … (5 comments)
