I don't know what the rules are in other states for home inspector, but here in Louisiana there isn't any regulations that I am aware. I recently listed a home the owner had tried to sell herself. The pipes were vide taped by a plumber supposedly. I don't know if happened are if she was even present when done. Anyway she was told they were bad and the house was to expensive. She didn't give in and the buyer walked away. Well after we finally listed the home we had a contract in 10 days. This buyer did every inspection possible and couldn't find … (1 comments)

How I hate that name, nothing personal, well maybe so. I find many homes in my neighborhood are still priced to high. After Katrina passed over us in 05 the first repaired houses were sold for very inflated prices. Well Slidell Louisiana rebounded fairly quickly but the demand for the houses has fell off the face of the earth. Prices before the storm were around 110-115 per square foot. Now they are trying to get 140 per square foot. Add in higher insurance costs and the price is kind of steep for this area. The problem for the sellers seems they … (5 comments)

I realize the values of houses have increased but never in my wildest dreams did I believe insurance would jump up so much. In my home community of Slidell Louisiana home sales have been close to stagnant ever since Katrina and insurance rates have soared through the roof. I just got a quote from an insurance agent and WOW I don't know if I can afford it now (the Property). Anybody else in the country have problems like this? … (2 comments)
