19121: Philly Spring Cleanup A Smashing Success - 04/12/10 01:40 PM
Thank you to everyone who came out to our cleanup event on Saturday and to anyone who participated in other cleanups around the city. It was a lot of fun getting out on a sunny Saturday morning with friends and neighbors and working together to make our corner of Philadelphia a little bit nicer to look at. I don't know how much trash we cleaned up in terms of weight or volume but I can say that I was a bit sore from all the work the next day, so that's a good sign. Not only is this annual event a

This New York Times article discusses one of the most commonly broken laws in that city, which also happens to be a very popular law to ignore in Philadelphia. The law in question, in both New York and my fair City of Brotherly Love, says that no more than three unrelated people can live in the same single-family house together (not including boarding homes, group homes, etc.). According to this article and the construction crews I pass on my way into the office everyday, exciting things are happening in the Francisville neighborhood where our office is located. Francisville has long been considered one of the 'next' up-and-coming neighborhoods of Philadelphia, but it has never really had a big, exciting driver to put it on the map. Well the 30+ vendor market described in the article may be just the thing. Details are still scarce, but I'm hoping for a miniature version of the Reading Terminal Market where I can grab lunch, get a few groceries, and maybe pick
