The Tennessee Dept. of Economic and Community Development has announced a rebate program for Homeowners who purchase new Energy Star efficent appliances. Tennesseans got an unexpected Christmas present this morning. Tennessee has been rated the 4th Happiest State in the Union according to data compiled by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Only Hawaii ( no kidding), Florida and Louisiana ( must be the food) had Happier residents than Tennessee. In what is sure to be considered a most welcome sign, the Appointment Center for Nashville's largest Realtor has recorded Home showings above 2008 AND 2009 numbers. Crye-Leike Realtors, Inc. provided these numbers this morning. For the first time since September of 2006, home showings have risen over the previous year. We measure the number of home showings as a way to look for Trends in the Nashville Market. For August, Nashville Home Buyers viewed more homes than one year ago. As measured by Crye-Leike Realtors, Inc., the largest Realtor in Nashville. This chart shows that for August 2009 the appointment center had slightly more showings scheduled then in August 2008. A very welcome sign. Although the increase from 2008 was a small one, it was a welcome sign for Nashville Realtors and Home Sellers. Home sellers in Nashville have a new Law to to deal with. As of July 1 the Tennessee State Legislature passed into Law Public Chapter 112, Senate Bill 0324 and House Bill 0380, Section 66-5-2. This new Law requires Home Sellers to disclose if their property is part of a Planned Unit Development or PUD. Here is the State's definition of a Planned Unit Development. Why the new Law?
