#45: Natural Chimneys Regional Park and Campgrounds - 09/24/10 10:47 AM
"It's hard to believe, but the Shenandoah Valley was once a floor of a great inland sea. Centuries ago, as that sea receded, the forces of Nature carefully etched out an awe-inspiring formation of solid rock. Take a few steps, though, and the chimneys are transformed into the massive turrets of a foreboding medieval castle. But Natural Chimneys (0 comments)

Cabins in the Shenandoah Valley Near Harrisonburg - 09/07/10 11:28 AM
I spent the day yesterday with a prospective buyer touring cabins in the Shenandoah Valley and around the Harrisonburg area. She is looking to take advantage of the buyers' market and purchase a vacation property in the mid-$200,000 range. The Shenandoah Valley is within easy driving distance from northern Virginia, Maryland, and even North Carolina, and the many activities it offers does, indeed, make it a prime location for a vacation property. We saw a handful of cabins, including Ponderosa Lane in Fulks Run, CC Turner Trail in Timberville, and Kilmon Road in Basye/Bryce Resort. Each had their own combination of (1 comments)

#38: Salsa Night in Harrisonburg - 09/02/10 08:11 PM
Thursday night has become synonymous with "Salsa Night" for many dancers seeking an outlet for their talents. The Artful Dodger attracts the range of novice to seemingly professional salsa dancers ($5 cover charge). And there are free salsa lessons from 8:30-9:30pm each night! This lets you learn the basic steps at a slow pace before the music and fun starts to speed up. And, if you're like me (i.e. can't dance salsa!), it is still entertaining to watch those who know what they're doing. The best ones show up sometime after 10pm. See www.SalsaBurg.com for information about special event. (0 comments)

A rustic, open-air pavilion on the grounds of a historic mineral springs spa and resort hotel, is home to all of the Festival's summer concerts. The Festival's main season includes eight (1 comments)
