Local government updates:
Residents in the "donut" area of Whitefish are making an effort to get an initiative on ballot regarding who - county, or city - should be able to rule on their planning and zoning issues.
Whitefish ice cream shop owners of Mrs. Spoonovers have fought hard for their sign rights on the building in court and won but now will be closing due to financial reasons. Very sad ending to the little guy finally getting justice.
Flathead County Planning is approving a special zoning area in Lakeside near Flathead Lake.

Green all around. Recent rains have certainly greened up the valley. Snow in the mountains this week, hopefully good forest fire insurance for the summer.
The elevated walking bridge is installed in Whitefish across Wisconsin St. between Whitefish Lake Lodge and the new property across the street. Should elevate parking issues and make it safe to get across the street.
Tis the season for theater productions from middle school to Flathead Community College. Many to choose from. Heading to the Docks restaurant tonight with friends for some music in Lakeside. I am hoping it is inside as it … (0 comments)

I LOVE where I live! Last Thursday, the sun was out, skis were in the car, so after working all morning, ran up to ski a few runs. Rode up on the chair with a guy who had done the very same thing. Not many places where a person can be so close to the ski hill that they can do this.
On the weekend we had a family bowling competition at Pick's Bowling in Bigfork. A fairly new bowling alley. Fun and frustration - not my favorite thing to do. Followed by dinner at Tamarack Creek Brewery in Lakeside. The … (0 comments)
