In today's tough economic times, any new business opening up is good news, and many new businesses coming to one area is "super" good news. Therefore, I'd like to take a moment to mention how great business is in Salt Lake City, Utah. Business is absolutely blooming and continuing to thrive in Salt Lake City.
In addition to the new downtown restaurants that have opened up such as the Olive Bistro, Eva Mediterranean Tapas, J Wong's Asian Bistro and Bruges Waffles and Frites, other businesses have come to Salt Lake City and are doing well, too.

Wow, this is interesting. It is said that many unmarried women in Utah are considered old maids. It seems that children are taught, from an early age, that a woman's happiness depends on marrying and staying at home to raise the children. But, now there are several unmarried female business owners that want to change this stigma. They want to get the word out to Utah's women that it's okay to be a strong women, and that they should take that strength into their own hands.

salt lake city utah: Utah’s 2008 No Child Left Behind Teaching Award Goes To…… - 09/06/08 09:50 AM
Each year, Utah awards a teacher of the state with the Utah No Child Left Behind American Star of Teaching award. The award recognizes those great teachers who improve academic performance, making a difference in students' lives. This years award went to Eric Kern, who threw his hands in the air and yelled "Wooooooooo" for several seconds after his name was announced.
Kern is a first-grade teacher who brought energy and excitement into is reading class. He also helped improve the library and was an after-school tutor.
