History of Kansas Land Values - 10/26/10 10:18 AM
The history of the Land Values Summary by the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service for Kansas (Northern Plains Region) shows a nice trend for landowners. Overall since Kansas has consistently gone up in values for farmland. The Northern Plains Regions includes Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota and that region has been holding in values or increasing as well.

The Topeka TARC Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights is an holiday event you won't want to miss seeing. It runs from November 19th until December 31st giving you plenty of time to find an evening to drive through Lake Shawnee Park at the Campgrounds to view this visual display from your car. This year there is a new Tour for walking and is is November 18th from 6-9 pm and cost of $2 which includes hot cocoa. The official Lighting Ceremony is November 19th at about 6 pm. Parts of Iowa have experienced skyrocketing values in cropland; recreational land markets are stagnant and disturbingly low values have been seen in development land all across the nation. Recently we found another Kansas author, Deborah Vogts, a contemporary novelist. The latest book inspired by the Flint Hills of Kansas is called Seeds of Summer. Deborah Vogts and her husband have three daughters and make their home in Southeast Kansas where they raise and train American Quarter Horses. As a student at Emporia State University studying English and journalism, Deborah developed a love for the Flint Hills that has never faded.
