The pace of slowed somewhat but the farmland values in Kansas are still going higher according to Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City survey. The fed says that severe drought and higher input costs have slowed the land values and increase were moderate for the second quarter compared to previous values. Values are still higher than last year. Most agree that the demand will remain and keep prices higher but the tight supply of land will remain which will keep the land values at same range. For the fourth quarter farmland values have gone up according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas city. This is for the region they cover that includes Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. The overall increases for the region were 6.4% for non-irrigated (dryland) cropland, and a huge 9.6% for irrigated cropland and 4.3% for ranchland. They pointed to increased demand by farmers expanding their current farming operations which is consistent with what we are seeing in Kansas. Breaking down the results and looking at Kansas it shows increases from the last quarter ranged in 4% area for cropland
