rural land: Kansas Rural Broadband Map - 07/16/09 04:13 PM
There is collaborative effort being done with the Kansas Farm Bureau and the Information Network of Kansas and others including Connected Nation to do a detailed map to show where gaps are in broadband service across Rural Kansas. This will hopefully help expand services in rural areas in Kansas and greatly help isolated land owners who are sometimes limited to services by either sketchy satellite services or old slow dial up services. The funding from stimulus packages may help provide opportunities to ensure that Kansas can improve its broadband services throughout the state.
