I was thrilled when Peter Merriman opened Monkeypod Kitchen in the Wailea Gateway Shops  Merriman’s here in Kapalua is one of my favorite places to watch sunset in Kapalua, and this newest venture is reminds me of one of my favorite lunch/dinner spots on the Big Island, Merriman’s Market Cafe in Waikaloa.  So as soon as the Monkeypod Kitchen opened, I made my way over to Wailea to give it a try, and have been back several times since.  The atmosphere is bright, fun and energetic.  The restaurant features fantastic salads, homemade pizzas, and a variety of local cuisine, … (4 comments)

Lehman Brother's Holdings has foreclosed on the hotel property, and auction is scheduled for May 5th in Wailuku.
