aiken real estate: another season dwindles down.... Aiken Spring Polo! - 06/15/12 02:37 PM
It's been one of the best polo seasons ever in Aiken -  I've been to some very exciting matches, and one of THE BEST I've been to yet.   It was the Smoak Family Tournament - finals match on Whitney Field, Aiken.   It was a great match, lots of great plays - both defensively and offensively, no injuries, not many penalties....  tied at the final chukker it went into sudden death overtime!
Polo has a long history here in Aiken.    Whitney Field is over 130 years old, and an Aiken historic landmark.

I had the pleasure of attending the Smoak Family Polo Tournament Finals match on Sunday - and what a match, wow!!  This was one of the best 8-goal matches I have ever seen.  Lots of defense, offense, skill, speed...   After the 6th chukker it was a tie game, so it went into sudden-death overtime.  It was non-stop action, both teams proved they deserved to be in the finals!  You don't see this kind of scoring usually in an 8-goal tourny. Got land?  Why not consider putting some or all of your land into a conservation easement?  It doesn't cost you anything - in fact, it puts money in your pocket with tax credits!!..but hurry, those credits may be ending soon!   But most importantly, it is protecting the land now and for generations to come.   We have only so much green space left on our planet - we need to take measures to keep it!!

Yes - that is Sheryl Crow!  I met her last night at her concert in North Charleston, SC.  (August 26, 2011)   She had contacted me after seeing a property on my blog, and next thing I know she had invited me to come see her in N.Charleston!   It was a great show - check out the review!
