It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and after tonight it will be officially Christmas season in Downtown Aiken! It's time for our annual Christmas tree lighting - officiated by our newly elected Mayor, Rick Osbon! This is the 27th Annual tree lighting - another Aiken tradition.

We've been decking the halls, streets and shop windows, now it's time to light the Christmas tree! Our tree is located in the center of Downtown Aiken, at the intersection of Richland Ave and Laurens Street - it sits atop the fountain! Come join the community in singing Christmas Carols and welcoming the Christmas season! See you there! Yesss!!! It's just about here. I was walking in Hopelands Gardens a few weeks ago with my great niece and we could see the transformation beginning! Over 100,000 lights will be strung throughout the gardens. If you have never been - you have to go at least once..... driving by and looking just isn't the same as strolling down the garden paths, seeing the strings of lights twinkling, the old oak trees, hearing the music, sipping hot apple cider at the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame & Museum....

Absolutely beautiful, the streets of Downtown Aiken aglow with 1000 luminaries.... you have to feel and see it for yourself, photos just don't do it justice! Visit Downtown Aiken on December 8th! Shopkeepers will have their doors open late for holiday shopping. Food - Festivities - even SANTA!!

Night of 1000 Lights is truly ONE of THE PRETTIEST evenings in Downtown Aiken, SC.
Pictures can't do it justice - you have to see it, feel it, live it, be part of it, enjoy it :)
Downtown is aglow - the streets lined with luminaries. Sponsoring businesses will be open late for holiday shopping, there will be food, festivities and even SANTA will be in town!!
