Maybe you were there -maybe not - but be sure to add it to your calendar for next year! What am I talking about - why Aiken Prep Fest of course! Our own Jesse Colin Young (of the Youngbloods) is one of the founders, and this year one of my friends won the 'sing out contest' and got the opportunity to sing onstage with Mr. Young himself! Things are moving right along at the Park Place Condos! Matt and Shane from TKE have been here installing the elevator! I can't wait to take a ride in it :) (a few more inspections, etc...and it will be ready to go) Did you notice the beautiful green parkway out front? Downtown Aiken has over 176 Downtown parkways, which total 15+ miles in length and are home to over 150 tree species. Another beautiful sunny day here in Aiken, SC. Ida has blown thru and we are back to clear blue sunny skies! The Park Place Cottages are coming along nicely --- although it has been awhile since I've been inside---- I am due for another tour! Here is a pic I just took this morning :) Isn't it a beautiful building! I absolutely LOVE everything about it! In my opinion anyway! I just love it - and it is the perfect size, too :) And the price is right! Right here in downtown Aiken (on Laurens Street, near the corner of Richland) is the Sweet Cow Creamery --- better known for their ice cream --- but believe me, they make a fantastic bag lunch! Just take a look at the bag : YES - THAT SAYS $2.89! (add .50 for your drink!) I have tried them all - they are all great!! Although, the pimento cheese sandwiches are my favorite, mmmm mmm mmm. Every year 'National Geographic Traveler' puts out a list of 'where to stay' This years list is '129 Hotels We Love' !! And guess what? -- Aiken's own Carriage House Inn made the list! Yaaayy!!
