Wishing all of my friends and readers a happy new year from Northeast PA! Many people start out the new year with a backwards negative comment, like: “Here’s hoping the new year is better than the last.” Well, probably it won’t be, if you have a perpetual negative outlook. I have always been a “half full” person. I look forward to each new year with a feeling of thankfulness for the blessings of the previous year. I’m looking forward to great things in 2011. So, no memoir of my favorite people on ActiveRain - I have too many favorites and will leave someone out and hurt their feelings. Geo W. Childs State Park is located off Silver Lake Road and Park Road in Dingmans Ferry. It is free to the public, and is a marvel to behold! This delightful Pocono property was donated in the early 1900's by the widow of George W. Childs, with the condition that there always be public access. The park is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This is, by far, one of my favorite spots in Pike County. The walking path is fairly easy with some moderate challenges.
