Never Cook When You're Half-Asleep... or You'll End Up Burning the Meat Loaf ! - 01/12/09 03:08 AM
I have been tired lately, so I have been taking quite a few naps.  Perhaps I took too many of them earlier today... because I woke up about an hour-and-a-half ago... and could not go back to sleep.  And... I was starving.
So... what does a nice girl from Cleveland do when she wakes up in the middle of the night and cannot go back to sleep ?  What else... she makes and bakes a meat loaf... and then starts making her comments on Active Rain.
Well... I am sitting here... writing posts, making comments, reading other Rainer's profiles, and actually … (19 comments)

You Cannot Get There From Here ! - 01/12/09 02:10 AM

Quite a few years ago I lived in Columbia, Maryland.  Now, for those of you who have never been to Columbia, and I was one of them, Columbia was one of the first "planned communities" in the country.  I believe it was Mr Rouse who planned out the entire city... separated it into specific "villages"... from the very beginning.
I think it was during my first week after arriving in Columbia.  I was driving around... I think I was on Little Patuxent Parkway... and somehow I got lost.  I drove around some more, and seemed to be going in circles  I … (2 comments)

Keller, Texas... a Great Place To Live... - 01/10/09 11:14 PM
Keller, Texas... a thriving "smaller city," and a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, was named one of the Top-Rated Smaller Cities in America.  Keller is just west of Southlake, Texas... and just south and east of the Alliance Corridor area of North Texas.
The fact that Keller is well-known for it's superb school system, it's great shopping, and it's active but reasonably-priced housing neighborhoods, it's great high school sports teams, and the fact that Lake Grapevine is just a few miles away... all contributed to Keller being part of this celebrated group of cities.
Other cities in Texas named to the … (18 comments)

A Christmas Angel... She Was Just The Gift I Needed ! - 01/09/09 02:37 AM
One of the nicest, most Christmas-worthy events I have been to over the last too-many years happened at a title company Christmas party a year ago... Christmas of 2007.  I know both Christmas and New Years, and even the Eastern Orthodox celebration (January 6th) have all passed, but this memory just came bouncing into my head just now... and I wanted to share it.
I usually do not attend functions like these... much too boring.  And... ha ha... the last place I would want to be around Christmas is surrounded by a building crammed-full of other Realtors.  Perhaps they feel the … (15 comments)

Something Cool is Happening in NorthWest Dallas ! Luxury Townhomes from the 180's ! - 01/03/09 11:29 PM
Something pretty cool is happening in Carrollton, Texas.  There is a brand new Townhouse Neighborhood that is pretty close to having it's three models ready.  My guess is that by January 30, 2009... the models will be complete.
So you tell me... what does the picture below most look like ?  If it wasn't for the two walkways leading up to the front, most folks have told me it looks like a North Dallas Two Story Beauty !

Well... it really IS a North Dallas Two Story Beautry... except for the fact that this is NOT a single family home, … (9 comments)

Moving During The School Year... Can Be A Good Move For Everyone ! - 01/03/09 09:28 PM
Often times around this time of year... when we Realtors find a great home for a buyer that just suits them perfectly, we all start talking about writing an offer.
Perhaps it's because what up til now was just a grey possibility in the future, and finding a nice home brings the decision into the "right here and right now"...  we often hear... "Oh my gosh... it just hit me.  We can't move now... we could NEVER do that to the kids.  We want to wait until the end of the school year.  If we "uprooted the kids"... well... it would just be much … (18 comments)
