They say, whatever doesn't kill us will make us stronger.  I think there's a lot of truth to that statement.  I've always tried to see the silver lining - the blessing in the misfortune, the learning opportunity in the failure.  When I saw this quote, it really resonated with me.  I just had to share it....

Blizzards, Tornadoes, an EARTHQUAKE? ... oh my!  What an interesting year it has been for us here in Connecticut. And now after Hurricane Irene, we're left wondering....what next!?   While that might be a legitimate question to ponder, I'd rather not to go there.  
I prefer to reflect a bit on what I've learned from this tumultuous year (and I'm not just talking about the weather).  First of all, I've learned to be grateful  - because, like my mother always said, no matter how bad we think we have it, things could always be worse.
