HAMPTON COVE, AL

The Hampton Cove, AL community has been one of the fastest growing areas of the city of Huntsville over the past several years.  According to THIS ARTICLE written by Crystal Bonvillian on AL.com, census data shows that East Huntsville (from the Taylor Road area North to areas just North of Dug Hill Road) gained nearly 9,000 residents between 2000 and 2010.  As of the 2010 Census, the population total was just short of 22,500.  Ms. Bonvillian also states that "The number of homes in the area has grown even more dramatically, from about 5,000 in 2000 to more than 8,600 in 2010, a jump of about 71 percent."

Huntsville City Councilman Mark Russell credits this to the amenities and recreational opportunities available in this area.

WEST HUNTSVILLE, AL

In a SECOND ARTICLE written by Crystal Bonvillian on AL.com, she states "With the city's borders creeping into Limestone County and plenty of land up for grabs, west Huntsville is forecast to be the fastest growing area of the city for years to come."  She also writes "Census figures show an 82 percent jump in population since 2000 in west Huntsville, which extends from Redstone Arsenal and Research Park Boulevard, goes around Madison on the north and south and reaches into Limestone County to the area of Mooresville Road. As of the 2010 Census, there were nearly 32,000 people living in that part of the city. The number of homes in west Huntsville has increased even more, by 87 percent, from just under 8,000 in 2000 to more than 14,800 a decade later."

HAZEL GREEN, MERIDIANVILLE, RIVERTON, NEW MARKET, AL

Finally, in ANOTHER ARTICLE written by Steve Doyle on AL.com, states that the area represented by Roger Jones (Northern Madison County's Commissioner) added 6,817 residents from 2000 to 2010. At last count, the population was 36,395.  More growth can be expected since The Alabama Department of Transportation has agreed to pay 80 percent of the cost of five-laning the busy stretch of Winchester Road from the bridge to just past the Bell Factory Road intersection.  This should help that area boom!

This is awesome news for our area.  It appears Huntsville/Madison County continues to be a growing, diverse area and will be such for many more years to come!  For those moving this way, please call me, Karen Borden, for any of your Real Estate Needs!

Thanks to Crystal Bonvillian and Steve Doyle for the wonderful articles written about our area!
