Information about your Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) has been provided to me to help folks who may be currently deployed and unaware of changes. November general election is only 90 days away.
And since the law has changed-- You may not get your ballot automatically.
To register, request a ballot and vote absentee by mail takes a LONG time. But you can now go to www.FVAP.gov today, use the online registration and absentee ballot assistant, and have your forms completed, printed out and ready to send back home in less than 10 minutes. It's simple and fast!!

If you are a military officer and have considered entering the legal field of the military there is a program available to assist you with that. It's called the Legal Studies Program. Applications for the Funded Legal Education Program and Excess Leave Program are being accepted from 1 January through 1 March 2010. Interested officers are encouraged to compete. The FLEP is a paid legal studies program for active-duty Air Force commissioned officers. The FLEP is an assignment action, and participants receive full pay, allowances, and tuition. Skype, is planning to launch its service for iPhone users on Tuesday and for BlackBerry in May in an effort to expand beyond the barriers of desktop computers. They have been working to make its service work on the most popular advanced phones with Skype's feature-rich mobile offering appeal to new and existing customers. What a tremendous opportunity it would be to reach out and video touch like Capt. Kirk. Then my coach won't have to fuss at me about my customer contact.

The Air Force Assistance Fund, , which last year raised $6.7 million is a a fund that benefits active duty, reserve, guard, retirees, surviving spouses and families, kicks off March 30 and will run through May 11. As a 20 year Veteran myself, I know the benefits the existence of this fund has provided to some of my friends and co-workers through the years. You never know when that emergency will arise that you couldn't plan for. Don Gaetz thinks there may be reason to worry about Florida's military bases, and says military spending could be reduced, leading to more base realignments and closures, even if the process is never called "BRAC." A notice from Eglin Air Force Base officials says "all Armed Forces personnel" are forbidden from going inside Twisted Palms Grill & Bar and Club Overboard until further notice. Now it's not very often that the military takes this type of action. I've seen it when I was stationed overseas where businesses were "black-balled", and in a few racially charged areas in the United States. Fannie Mae modified a policy that limited real estate investors to only 4 financed properties. That number can now be increased upwards from 5 to 10, depending on eligibility criteria, underwriting and delivery requirements are met. The change is noted in a just-released update of Fannie Mae’s “Multiple Mortgages to the Same Borrower Policy.” The change is effective March 1 2009. To qualify, borrowers must meet Fannie Mae’s criteria. Fannie Mae offers more information about its new policy in Announcement 09-02, released on Friday. I think that President Obama made a wise decision to leave it up to the families. Personally, as a 20 year USAF Veteran, I think it is a very somber and private moment in time forloved ones. I used to be stationed at Dover AFB, Delaware. It is the port of entry for remains returning from the European theater. MajGen David Eidsaune USAF AAC AAV/CC just announced that the Air Force has signed the Initial Record of Decision to bring the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter to EAFB!
This announcement allows the delivery of 59 aircraft between March 2010 and 2015. This decision will also allow for the construction of facilities for the JSF Initial Joint Training Site, which includes instructor pilots, operations and maintenance support personnel and provides an initial capability for one squadron each of F-35s for the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.
