When you retire from the military, you have the option of making one final move free of charge (courtesy of the military) back to your home of record. Speak to TMO (Traffic Management Office) about your plans to move back to your home of record, so that arrangements can be made to pack up your belongings and move you and your family back to your home of record. The following is the latest update from DFAS on the April 15 paycheck "shortage".
Due to the near shutdown last week, most military should have received two deposits in their bank accounts on April 15.
Although active duty members and Reservists will receive two payments to cover their full mid-month pay on April 15, the most current Net Pay Advice statements will still only show the partial payments for the week of April 1-8.
In both cases a full accounting of April pay will be available on the normal end of month LES, posted to myPay accounts on April 22.

In a Federal courthouse, UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen a mixed martial arts fighter was sentenced to two years probation, issued a $10,000 fine and had his Realtor's license revoked after pleading guilty to money laundering on January 3rd. I guess he was originally facing something like 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
While his suspension in the field of athletics will be lifted for him, NAR DON'T PLAY THAT! His license is revoked! Yeah, let me see that get lifted.

There are always changes going on around us, most you don't even notice until after the fact. So just in case you didn't know that the Okaloosa airport located in ValParaiso is now named the Northwest Florida Regional Airport. You will still land on Eglin AFB, and taxi over to the commercial side, they just changed the name.

Skype, is planning to launch its service for iPhone users on Tuesday and for BlackBerry in May in an effort to expand beyond the barriers of desktop computers. They have been working to make its service work on the most popular advanced phones with Skype's feature-rich mobile offering appeal to new and existing customers. The Air Force Assistance Fund, , which last year raised $6.7 million is a a fund that benefits active duty, reserve, guard, retirees, surviving spouses and families, kicks off March 30 and will run through May 11. As a 20 year Veteran myself, I know the benefits the existence of this fund has provided to some of my friends and co-workers through the years. You never know when that emergency will arise that you couldn't plan for. A notice from Eglin Air Force Base officials says "all Armed Forces personnel" are forbidden from going inside Twisted Palms Grill & Bar and Club Overboard until further notice. Now it's not very often that the military takes this type of action. I've seen it when I was stationed overseas where businesses were "black-balled", and in a few racially charged areas in the United States. The Federal Trade Commission announced a settlement with three lenders – one in Florida – who violated FTC law by misleading potential borrowers by allegedly touting low monthly payments and rates without fully disclosing loan terms. The lenders have actually agreed to settle, and admitted that their ads violated federal law. I'm not going to bother naming the culprits, because many more are doing it, they just haven't been caught/charged yet. One of the direct mail ads for the company states: “30-Year Fixed. 1.95%.”
