atlanta: Wow! A High and Mighty Brain Rush Revisited - 04/28/12 09:58 AM
Wow!  A High and Mighty Brain Rush Revisited
I've been spending some time going through last years stagings to post to my Web site -- yes, we have been so busy as this great industry of home staging has been growing here in Atlanta, I am just now updating 2011 photos! We are truly blessed to have such a problem!!!
Anyways, I stumbled across my photos for this job and once again got that high and mighty brain rush that comes with a successful job well done (we all feel it -- Realtor or home stager) when the home sells and the buyer … (17 comments)

atlanta: Us Stagers -- Do we have a move fetish? - 01/05/12 12:19 PM
Us stagers -- well, we must be nuts!  All of us!  Do you think we have a "moving" fetish???  Statistics show that the average person moves every 5 to 7 years.  I mean, seriously, who in their right mind would want to go through the process of moving to a different home a couple times a decade let alone make a move a couple times a week???

Okay, so we don't actually move, but we perform the act of moving.  The stagings that really bring this thought to mind though is when Peachtree Home Staging in Atlanta gets to pick … (15 comments)

atlanta: The Biggest Complement of All - 08/11/11 01:15 PM
There are only a few things in life that I love more then what I do (and that's because my family would kill me if I didn't say that. Just kidding they will always be my #1 :) )  This industry has blown up before us over the past few years and who else should we praise and thank more other then our clients?
Our clients are who keep us in business. They are the ones who call us time and time again to stage another home they finished flipping. They call us to thank them because there house has sold … (5 comments)

I know it is the 4th of July, but I feel like it could be Thanksgiving?
It looks like the 4th of July.  I certainly feel the patriotism.  I see the flags flying gloriously.  And there goes the parade up the street past my home as I sit here and blog!  Tonight there will be fireworks all around town.
. . . . but, I can't help the Thanksgiving heart felt emotions, tugging at my throat.  Let me tell you why!
Home Staging in Atlanta is booming for Peachtree Home Staging!  And I couldn't be more grateful.
Grateful for my Independence . . .

atlanta: The best things to share in common are not coincidences - 08/29/10 11:01 AM
The best thing to share in common are not coincidences
I am here today to point out the value of commonalities;  not to be confused with coincidences!
We all want to be unique.  But, at the same time we all want to fit in with current trends.
A good home stager will always say each property is unique and should be staged to highlight the home's best features.  That's quite true.  But, still there are often commonality's shared between properties.  And that can be a good thing.
Without further ado, let me explain my recent experience with commonality's:
3 properties rebuilt from … (16 comments)

No Pain, No Gain . . . Is it a pain in the _ _ _, really?
About 3 weeks ago, one of my vacant stagings was of a super cute 1950's updated home in a trendy area of Smyrna, GA close to the Vinings area.  It was on the market for a couple of weeks prior to contacting Peachtree Home Staging.  As it was explained to me, instead of posting photos of the vacant property at the time of listing, they choose to publish some older photos they had from the previous renters living in the home.
Prior to hiring Peachtree Home Staging to … (25 comments)

atlanta: Wrapping Things Up! - 07/15/10 01:45 PM
Wrapping Things Up!
I went to a party once where everyone brought a wrapped gift to exchange under $10.00.  All the gifts went to a pile in the center of the room, and then, by way of a drawing, names were selected one at a time from a hat.  When your name was called you were able, to go to the pile of wrapped gifts and select one for yourself.
WHICH GIFTS WERE SELECTED, LEAVING THE PILE FIRST??
Well, the ones that were wrapped the prettiest having the most appeal of course!  If the package showed sloppy, it remained unselected until the end.  … (25 comments)

atlanta: The Wider the Road is to Cross; the More Road Kill You Will Find - 05/17/10 11:11 AM
Recently I blogged a post regarding road kill -- "1970's Traditional Formal Living Room Doesn't Have To Be Road Kill".
Sometimes these homes from the 70's can be overwhelming -- the ROAD KILL to the real estate sale.  If there is updating for the buyer to contimplate . . .  then the road just looks that much wider to the buyer; with that many more lanes to safely get across.
So, just like the chicken that crossed the road to show the possum it could be done . . . Peachtree Home Staging implements their staging talent to show off how really great this 1970's … (15 comments)

atlanta: Staging for Displaying . . . Seriously! - 05/12/10 05:17 PM
Staging for Displaying . . . Seriously!
This was a fun, FUN, fun project providing Peachtree Home Staging with a break from the normal daily staging routine.
We staged two bedrooms, a master, and a child's room.  Now, I know you must be wondering . . . so why was that any different from our daily staging routine?
Well, that's because we weren't in a house!  We were at an Atlanta area convention center setting up faux bedrooms in a huge conference room for a show that was displaying home storage solutions.
Okay, let me say -- no walls was a bit of … (18 comments)

atlanta: I've Got a New Song to Sing! - 04/05/10 11:27 AM
I've Got a New Song to Sing!
Recognize these Lyrics?
Love and Marriage, Love and Marriage
Go Together like a horse and carriage . . .
I hate to date myself here, as I don't remember the song being a hit, but I do think I can remember my Mom singing the words as she whisked a broom around the house, or danced a dust rag across the wood furniture.
Any ways, my new love for my photography and continued love for home staging brought to mind a twisted version of the lyrics for this old classic . . .

Incredible Advantage Just There for the (photo) Taking!
This will knock your socks off!  I am amazed at the power of a camera -- even when it is put in the hands of an amateur, wanna-be, home staging photographer like me!
First -- here is the story behind the photos --
A couple months back I was interviewed and selected to home stage this great vacant loft located in Inman Park of Atlanta, GA.   This trendy sought after location and property will call out to a college student, grad student or professor or possibly a young Atlanta entrepreneur.
Here are 2 before photo's … (18 comments)

atlanta: 7 Months Into the Year; What Are Your Assumptions and Predictions? - 07/31/09 03:18 PM
I have been in sales and marketing in the past for a couple of small companies and also for a couple of large fortune 500 companies.
This was when I made the "big bucks" and before I was old enough to get to do what I wanted to do.
I thought I worked for those 4 Companies for over 20 years just to make a good, better than average income and life for my family.
However, what I now realize is that without those professional experiences in sales, I would not have the knowledge I have now on how to make my … (13 comments)

atlanta: Stagers and Realtors: Beware of the FTC (smile)! - 07/07/09 04:20 PM
Home Stagers and REALTORS:  Consider yourself forewarned of your illegal actions!
Federal Trade Commission's plan to change rules on ad endorsements, testimonials worries marketers
Extreme results, disclaimers to be overhauled by FTC
You may want to take heed and follow the link to the article above published by the Chicago Tribune.
BOTTOM LINE:    The FTC is going to require advertisers to show typical results.
Yep, that right!
You know what that means!  Home stagers and Realtors are facing a dramatic change in the home staging industry!  After all, home stagers and Realtors are marketers striving to display the absolute most favorable property presentation … (9 comments)
