staging: Never lost; but FOUND, we were!!! - 09/16/11 03:23 PM
Never lost; but FOUND, we were!!! I received an e-mail from a Realtor. It read . . . "Hi there, I have a listing located at 1368 Ormewood Ave, Atlanta, Ga 30316. Beautiful down-to-the-studs renovation. We have had fabulous showings but not offers! We've been the bridesmaid to two other homes that were picked (funnily enough they were staged). My sellers and I would like to look into staging. Is this something you can talk to me about? I e-mailed back . . . "It would be a pleasure to stage that home! I have staged several in

staging: The Biggest Complement of All - 08/11/11 01:15 PM
There are only a few things in life that I love more then what I do (and that's because my family would kill me if I didn't say that. Just kidding they will always be my #1 :) ) This industry has blown up before us over the past few years and who else should we praise and thank more other then our clients? Our clients are who keep us in business. They are the ones who call us time and time again to stage another home they finished flipping. They call us to thank them because there house has sold

staging: Fulfilling Solutions to Unfulfilling Problems - 07/12/11 06:20 PM
Walking into homes as a stager we are required to find simple and fulfilling solutions to the homes awkward and unfulfilling problems. This can sometimes leave us perplexed thinking to ourselves "What were they thinking in 1952 when they designed this house; there is no good furniture placement to watch T.V.?" Silly really, since in 1952 T.V.'s were up and coming with all 3 offered channels and not in every home. Not like today's new construction homes that have entertainment centers built in with room for a 56" television. We chose to hang Art to Demo the TV placement. This home in Atlanta that Peachtree Home Staging recently

I have always loved design since I was little! I would rearrange my room several times a year as a kid to try and change it up and

staging: No Pain, No Gain . . . Is it a pain in the _ _ _, really? - 07/17/10 04:26 PM
No Pain, No Gain . . . Is it a pain in the _ _ _, really? About 3 weeks ago, one of my vacant stagings was of a super cute 1950's updated home in a trendy area of Smyrna, GA close to the Vinings area. It was on the market for a couple of weeks prior to contacting Peachtree Home Staging. As it was explained to me, instead of posting photos of the vacant property at the time of listing, they choose to publish some older photos they had from the previous renters living in the home. Prior to hiring Peachtree Home Staging to

staging: Sometimes it is difficult to see past the rubble . . . and remodeling creates RUBBLE! - 06/12/10 10:52 AM
Sometimes it is difficult to see past the rubble . . . and remodeling creates RUBBLE! I visited this "vacant" condo one afternoon to prepare a quote for Peachtree Home Staging to present to the seller. As you can see from the photos below, it may be "VACANT"; but there was a lot of activity going on! One week later, we became the selected home staging company to create the final presentation for this little Atlanta condo located in Vinings. Challenged with a rather cluttered first impression, to say the least, we had no idea what we would find upon entering the 2nd time with

staging: A Peachtree City Treasure - 07/30/09 03:21 PM
This house captured my heart the first time I saw it! The home was vacant, but I immediately saw my presentation! It's not fancy or high end. It's comfy, charming, and quite livable. The condition of the home is impeccable . . . the very defintiion of "well-maintained". So there are all those tax credits for first time homebuyers, which is ANY ONE, really, who hasn't owned a home in the last three years.

staging: This Condo is One Step Ahead! - 10/28/08 04:44 PM
Peachtree Home Staging recently provided home staging services, furnishings, and accessories for a vacant condo located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Buckhead is conveniently located near Midtown and Downtown Atlanta. The owner of the condo lives out of town and had to trust we'd get the job done right. We finished up and sent photos last week and the owner paid a personal visit to the property this past weekend. Here is the e-mail we received back: "Karen, We love the results. The condo looks so warm and welcoming. Wish I could move in." Thanks, Susan Well, regardles of the market, particullarly with

staging: Is Your Listing An Idol Or Just Idle? - 06/16/08 10:30 PM
I am what I call, a true "American Idol" fan, and also, a true "So You Think You Can Dance" fan. What I mean by "true" is I could care less about the auditions and all the pre-season wet noodles - give me meat and potatoes - give me talent - ooh and ah me; that's what I want! So, I do not start watching either show weekly until the finalist have all been chosen. Then, from week to week, I love watching them mature; rise to the challenge; mold their presentation to captivate loyal fans and nurture votes that single

staging: Ready, Set, GO! - 06/12/08 06:06 PM
Studies indicate that a home buyer's first impression occurs with in the first 3 seconds of entering the home. That being the case, it is so important that the foyer is inviting. Just a small hall table and light accessories were what this foyer needed in this Peachtree Corners home located in Atlanta. This simple accessorizing brings attention to the attractive stair case and gleaming hardwood floors. Think of it this way . . . you have gone to all the trouble working out to make your home for sale sparkle. You have run the extra mile to have great internet

staging: Have You Been To Home Stager's Heaven? - 06/04/08 03:11 PM
I just came from home stager's heaven . . . well, actually I was in Atlanta, but it must have resembled home stager's heaven, because I had the opportunity to exercise my talents to create a lovely atmosphere in this already charming home! I'm not sure what seemed so magical to me . . . I staged it in a day. It was just me; no one to share company with; but it was pure pleasure. My enthusiasm was at a high; I was totally at peace and enjoying the tasks at hand! I always am quite enthusiastic about my work, whether it

staging: Got the Touch? - 04/16/08 01:49 PM
The process of engaging in professional Home Staging for your occupied home and the process of engaging in a professional massage for your aches and pains have some similarities. Some people just melt into a ball of butter at the very thought of relaxing in the soothing expertise that pours from the hands of the trained massage therapist. Others, well, not so much. They tighten up just at the thought of a strangers hands kneading and knuckling their muscles under bare exposure! A home seller inviting a professional home stager into their domain reacts in two different ways as well. Most are excited about their

I am designing and writing this post in a way that it gives back. To clarify my intentions, I want to give back to Stage It Forward, and the other Staging Active Rain Groups, and especially the Moderators of those groups (who spend countless volunteer hours reading each and every post), and the members of those groups who should always want to improve their posts. Of course, I have my need to entertain, educate and elaborate. So, let me begin! This being my 101st post, I now know where to post my writings and MORE IMPORTANTLY, where not to post! Silly as

staging: I LOVE MY STATS! - 03/24/08 06:51 PM
Everyone love statistics, and I've got to admitt . . . I love mine! In Peachtree City, Georgia there are currently 274 homes for sale. The average home for sale is $367,000. It is a great place to live, without a doubt. It was recently ranked as the 8th best place to live in the U.S. And, I eagerly second that! Okay, back to the Peachtree City Stats . . . here's what flips my skirt and makes me smile, over and over again! 274 homes for sale109 average days on the marketWish I could say I staged 274 homes in Peachtree City, but I didn't. staging: Stagers Make The World Go Around - 01/31/08 08:02 PM
I've been digging and surfing, churning and searching . . . I've been looking for something that I knew would express the absolute success and spirit of the Stage It Forward Round Tables in Atlanta this past month. And at the same time express my gratitude to Kathy Nielsen for being my trusted partner in facilitating the event (I actually have been suffering from Kathy withdrawals since the event on the 17th). And something worthy of our appreciation to IKEA for hosting our event. And lastly something to express our appreciation to Gina McNew for airing a summary of the event on her radio show. I knew with
