Free Food Programs for LaGrange County Youth this Summer - 06/08/09 09:45 AM
 

The Indiana Department of Education, local school corporations, churches, and the USDA have come together to provide breakfast and lunch for kids in our area this summer Monday through Friday.
Lakeland School Corporation Breakfast will be provided at Lakeland High School from 7:00 to 7:30.
Lunch will be provided at the high school from 12:00 to 1:00 and also at LaGrange Town Park, Howe Town Park, Ontario Town Park, and Taylor Park in Wolcottville.

Witmer Lake is an all sports lake on the Indian Chain of Lakes. The chain includes Dallas Lake, another all- sports lake, and also 3 fishing lakes: Westler, Hackenberg, and Messick. Wolcottville is a small rural lake community in Northeast Indiana. We are located within an hour of Fort Wayne, Elkhart, South Bend, Mishawaka, and Michigan. We are about a 3 hour drive from Chicago and Indianapolis.

Indiana is once again holding a free fishing weekend June 6th and 7th. Kids 17 and under never need a license.  If you haven't fished for a while and don't have a license, this weekend is your chance to try it again without buying a license. So dust off that fishing pole and tackle box, invite a child you know that's never learned to fish, and teach a new generation to enjoy what our local lakes have to offer in LaGrange County.
