It is not at all unusual for people to complain about restrictions placed on them by their homeowner association.  They do much more than collect your homeowner dues.
For example, here in Lake Ridge, it is a violation of our covenants to have trash containers stored in plain view of passersby.  They may be stored alongside a home if they are completely screened by evergreens or an enclosure approved by the Architectural Committee. 

A trash can stored on a porch or carport is a violation.  Citations have been and will continue to be made by LRPRA

Opened in 1987 the 24,400 square foot facility sits on the border between the Springfield and Burke areas of Fairfax Countyat 6450 Sydenstricker Road
It serves both communities with over 175,000 volumes.  There are reading programs for children of all ages and three book clubs.

Kids in Lake Ridge Turned Their Pajamas Inside Out Last Night - 01/27/09 04:38 PM

 
It worked - we had our first snowfall of the winter in the National Capital Area today and school was closed.  Kids in our community took out sleds, tubes, dishes, plastic sheets and went sledding in the two inches of snow that fell in eastern Prince William County.
Fortunately for them, Lake Ridge is built on hilly terrain.

Ducks and geese living near MCB Quantico have a special reason to be concerned.

The library first opened in the lower level of Tacketts Mill in 1985.  Those of us who are now and were residents then remember well the Lake Ridge mural that was painted by a local artist.
However, there was a fire in 1986 that damaged the mural and also forced the closure of the library for one month.  It moved to an upper level location temporarily and in 1987 returned to its' original location.

Every two months I give blood in support of the INOVA Hospital System blood drive in Springfield, Virginia
The Rotary Club of West Springfield supports and participates in the INOVA Blood Drive held every two months at the Pohick Regional Library on Sydenstricker in Springfield.
As you may know, Rotary International is an international community service organization.  Our club is very active in the community contributing both personal time as well as financial resources
