Over the past 33 years my husband and I have both sold a lot of real estate to and for people. It is not surprising that we find some subdivisions that are personally appealing to us. In Springfield three of my personal favorites are Rhygate, Charlestown and Greentree Village. Since there are only 124 homes in Greentree Village it is not as prominent as its' illustrious neighbor Orange Hunt Estates. The entrance is just west of Huntsman Boulevard on Fieldmaster. It is sited between Old Keene Mill and Sydenstricker surrounded by trees. The community itself has trees throughout and several treed common areas that resemble a village aquare. Lorton Station is a 300 acre subdivision of 950 newer homes just South of Fort Belvoir. Detached homes and town homes are available and, yes, it is within 15 minutes of the entrance to Fort Belvoir. Additionally, it is only 15 miles south of Washington, D.C. - the Lorton entrance to and exit from I-95 is just outside the community on Lorton Road. Homes sales in 2008 are up over 2007 in Cardinal Forest. In 2007 there were 17 homes sold in Cardinal Forest, However, 18 homes have sold in the first 7 months of 2008. It is an attractive and extremely well maintained subdivision. Much of its' popularity with both military and civilian purchasers is the fact that all 3 grade level schools are less than 10 minutes as well as shopping.
