The National Capital Area is one of the most popular summertime vacation destinations in the country. Living as close as we do in Prince William County we are able to visit more frequently than tourists. However, most of us spend the majority of our leisure time seeking out recreational opportunities close to home. As a developing county our recreational venues are growing along with the residential and commercial community. It's winter, it's frosty and it's time for Winterfest, an annual event at Harris Pavilion in Historic Manassas. Each winter Harris Pavilion becomes an outdoor, but covered public ice skating rink. There is no charge for Prince William County residents (Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Nokesville, Manassas, Bristow, or Gainesville) to bring their trash to the landfill. There are fees for residents of Dumfries, Occoquan, Quantico and Haymarket.
