Opened symbolically on November 10, 2006. The National Museum Of The Marine Corps currently houses artifacts portraying the history of the US Marines from November 10, 1775 to the present day. The museum is a 120,000 square foot state-of-the-art interactive building that captivates visitors. Quantico Marines served as models for the mannequins plus full scale equipment is used in the displays. It is rapidly becoming one of the premier visitor destinations in Prince William County and Northern Virginia.

Listening to music at the marina in Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge is a very relaxing way to spend a summer evening. The lawn overlooks the Potomac River and is between the two boat ramps giving you an endless view of nautical scenery as boats of all types come and go.
The bandstand is at water's edge. The performers have their backs to the river and face the assembled music lovers.
You can bring your own refreshments or there is a snack bar where light fare can be purchased. Be sure to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs

Founded in 1918 the men and women of the Quantico Marine Corps Band rank among the finest musicians in the region as well as the US Marine Corps.
The band is widely acclaimed and has received many awards. We are fortunate to have them based here in Prince William County, making it possible for us to enjoy their performances locally over the course of the summer months.

This past Saturday we visited the annual Manassas VA Railway Festival. Held in Historic Old Manassas it celebrates the role the city played in the economic development of the National Capital Area beginning in the early 19th century. Of course, the rail line through Manassas was vital to both Union and Confederate forces during the Civil War.Since this was our first visit we looked forward to the massive model railroad displays. Prince William County has an excellent park system that icludes year round aquatic and fitness centers, sports fields, summer camps, water wave parks, skateboard facilities and four golf courses. Not being a golfer I cannot personally recommend the courses, but we have clients and friends who indicate the three 18 hole courses are well played and are considered "championship" quality. One is in the east, one in the center and one in the western part of Prince William County. Covenant Presbyterian moved to its' new location on Hoadly Rd three years ago. The block parties give the members an opportunity to meet our neighbors in an informal setting. Over the years the Old Town Manassas VA Railroad Festival has centered around the old brick depot which was built in 1914 and still serves commuter trains and Amtrak. However, next year marks the 150th anniversary of The First Battle of Manassas during the Civil War. The decision was made to incorporate activities pertaining to that since the rail line through Manassas was of importance to both North and South.

In 1820 Brentsville was the center of Prince William County Virginia. The county built a courthouse and jail there in 1822The courthouse and jail served 71 years until a new courthouse and jail was built in Manassas in 1893.At times after it was closed it served as a dormitory for a girl's private school, a private residence and as an office. The building is currently closed awaiting restoration and is the only remaining building in the Brentsville Historic Centre not yet renovated.

This is only one of 5 tables of pies at the event.
