I've been invited to be a  potential candidate for "Who's Who Among Executives and Professional Women...3 times...
For some reason, I have never written back to this invitation.  I'm not sure why.
Have any of you had this same invitation?  If you have, have you replied to their requests?
I mean, I  have had quite a nice career in the medical arena prior to my real estate career, however, I'm not sure why I resist the opportunity to be published as a prominent accomplished person through this arena.
What do you think?

What is the point of writing a blog, then disabling the comments? - 04/30/09 10:43 PM
What is the point of writing a blog, then disabling the comments?
What is the point of writing a blog, then turning off the ability of the reader to reply to what you have written?
This has always puzzled me as I think of a blog ( a conversational site of various input by others) as a place for other's to write opinions.
So, why blog, and not want conversation?
As to my statement above? why bother to post a "blog" if you don't want comments?
If you post your opinion, Do you want other's to express their feelings to what … (49 comments)

Active Rain is always raining, but in retrospect it is sunshine! - 04/24/09 08:16 PM
Active Rain is always raining, but in retrospect it is sunshine!
I guess this is a colloquialism.
In retrospect, Active Rain is one of the best web sites for REALTORS(R), staggers, attorneys, mortgage individuals, etc. on line.
Why is Active Rain such a great site, because they care.  The owner cares, the people that you can contact to help you care...Brad, Jon, Bob, and the rest of the staff care about your concerns.
With over 144,000 members, they still take the time to answer your questions, to help you with your blogs, to enlighten you with new tools...what else could you … (13 comments)

Hey Mr. President, I need a place to live!!!!! - 04/17/09 09:40 PM

Hey Mr. President, I need a place to live!!!!!
Hey President Obama,
I need a place for myself and my family. Yes, I was duped by the situation that occurred in 2005!  I was duped by a mortgage broker who embellished my income, who didn't explain to me what a balloon mortgage was, who said my property would only increase in value.  The picture of the future was perfect and I expected that the Economy would improve as well.
Well, "REALITY CHECK".
Now, I have had to move back in with my parents...my wife, and 2 children...I'm totally embarrassed.

Do you have a client, or a customer? - 04/17/09 09:10 PM

Do you have a client, or a customer?
Do you have a fiduciary relationship with your client? Or are you a transaction broker as we are in Florida for the most part?
Clients have a fiduciary relationship with their Realtor.  Customer's on the other hand are working with a transaction broker.
Do you know the difference as an agent?
Yes, client sounds better and I like that word as well.  However, if you are a transaction broker, you have a customer.  If you have a fiduciary relationship with someone, they are your client.
Do you use the right terminology?
Do … (16 comments)

Florida is moving, yes, it's moving! - 04/17/09 07:29 PM
Florida is moving, yes, it's moving!
Florida is moving in the correct direction. According to Broward County news, we have gone from 24 months of inventory a year ago to 16 months of inventory!  Great information to have.
Home sales in my area of Broward County are selling at for the most part 90% of the asking price.
Homes east of US 1 are holding their own.  There are ONLY 3 FORECLOSURES BEACH FRONT, in the Fort Lauderdale area, including Lauderdale-by-the-Sea up to the Sea Ranch area.
That is more good news.
Apparently, we've are on a positive move here in … (10 comments)

Cash is gold and real estate in Florida is selling. - 04/10/09 08:14 PM
Cash is gold and real estate in Florida is selling.
WOW, I don't know about the rest of the country, but Fort Lauderdale, Florida beach area properties are selling like hot cakes.
We have properties such as a 1/1 beautiful property between the Intracoastal and withing a block of the ocean as low as $50,000.
We are seeing an influx of people with cash buying everything at rock bottom prices.
As is the motto in our office.  Those that buy now are the millionaires of the future.
How is this current situation in your area?

Why office gossiping and complaining negatively affects the office. - 04/10/09 08:01 PM
Why office gossiping and complaining negatively affects the office.
It's really a shame that this even needs discussed, however, in this difficult market, you hear more gossiping and complaining than ever.
Complaints if addressed negatively affect the whole attitude in an office.  That is not good. Working in a negative situation does not breed success. Complaining, in my humble opinion is a cowardly response to a problem.  Wouldn't it make more sense to deal with the problem in a professional manner, come to an amicable resolution, and move on?  Why dwell on an issue instead of dealing with it head on?
