friends: AR referrals...through interactions here, not the referral button...it's great. - 01/28/09 11:39 PM
AR referrals...through interactions here, not the referral button...it's great.
It's taken a little time, however, the time blogging here on AR has been well worth my while.
I have received 6 referrals in the last 2 months through my friends here on AR.
They have come from California...Chicago, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Two have even come from Canada.
What is important here on AR is the interactions, emails, and conversations that result in friendships you probably would never have had without Active Rain.
This plethora of knowledge from some of the most astute agents here cannot be found in a class, a … (6 comments)

I hate myself for lovin' you, can't break free from the things that you do (thank you Joan Jett)...
I want to walk, but I run back to you...
Do you feel this way sometimes about a tough buyer?
Do you love the fact that you have a GREAT BUYER, albeit, a tough cookie?
Do you often times hate to deal with a person b/c they are a tough cookie...perhaps a strong business man, who know's the rules of the game?
Do you get intimidated?  I don't...but if you do, it's totally OK.

friends: Have you ever been duped? - 09/18/08 09:36 PM
Have you ever been duped?
Duped is defined by Webster's dictionary as follows:
"dupe: a person easily tricked- v.t. to deceive, fool, trick."
Has anyone done this to you before?
Of course it has, what ramifications did this lead to?
How did you feel after the situation occurred?
Did you often wonder why?
Did you feel the person that duped you was your friend/college?
Why would someone dupe you?
What is the point to duping someone?
Is it for personal gain?
Are they really your friend/college?
HOW DO YOU handle being duped?

friends: Strange, I took off work 9/11...then the kids came home early from school in a panic. - 09/10/08 11:31 PM
Strange, I took off work 9/11...then the kids came home early from school in a panic.
It was supposed to be just a day off for me. I just needed a day to catch up. A day for myself, the kids were back in school and I just wanted to get the house back in order.  I wanted to do the fall clean up, iron clothes, clean up the yard, prepare for fall, and basically wanted a day to myself...a day off from work.
Well, around 1:30 pm, my child, all of her friends arrived at my house frantic. I hadn't … (19 comments)

friends: New Art gallery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - 07/23/08 10:39 PM
One of my customer's bought what used to be Wally's Tavern several month's ago.
Courtlandt and Michelle McQuire, a newly married couple purchased the well known tavern and have transformed it into a fabulous place for friends, visitors, and tourists.
It is now called Red Bar Gallery. It has been totally redone into a fabulous place with abstract art.
The food is fantastic...made fresh daily. The atmosphere is alluring and the clientele...unbelievable...from local artists, to other local bar owner's to the rich and famous...this is the place to visit.  The a is fantastic...locals are famous and it's a fun place to visit...

friends: On a lighter note tonight on AR...Friday, wear RED! Why? read on. - 06/26/08 10:06 PM
Friday is the day that we all should wear red!  Why you ask?
It is the day of the week that we should all take the time to respect our troops serving our country.
It is respect to the family and friend's of those who have left their families to take care of the USA!
It's not that tough to do...however, the families of those serving our countries sure do appreciate our support.
Wear red every Friday...until all our loved one's, family, and friends...are once again here at home in the USA!
Thank you...
How do you feel about this?

friends: My 400th post - Respecting the elderly, albeit a friend, parent, or customer. - 06/24/08 11:37 PM
It took me a while to decide what to write as my 400th post...WOW, I've been on AR only since 9/11/07...hard to believe I wrote that many posts...however, I love the responses and comment's of all the wonderful people that I have met and become close friend's with on Active Rain!
Respecting the elderly - be it a neighbor, a friend, a parent, or a customer is something very near and dear to my heart!
It irritates me when people do not realize that ALL of us will be in this same situation...sometime.
I like to think that we will all … (6 comments)

friends: People..buyer's in the USA and elsewhere...seller's are negotiable...why NOT??? - 06/18/08 11:05 PM
Please tell me...why NOT BUY NOW?  You can offer atleast 20% below the offering price and you can negotiate a great deal right now. Seller's are very negotiable.
Think about this...interest rates are rising...home sales are low, and the seller's are willing to negotiate really good deal's right now.
Home sales, fabulous home sales are out there..BUY NOW...GET a GREAT INTEREST RATE...
Don't listen to your friend's...be smart. Get the home you want, negotiate the price for the home you want...if you need help anywhere in Florida, call me...954-464-4194.

friends: Resales...customer's who changed their minds...after the recent purchase... - 06/18/08 10:37 PM
I have two customer's, possibly three, who have recently bought properties....then changed their minds...None of them are short sale situation's, they changed their minds due to a change in lifestyle.
One has decided to change their residence (back to Europe), one due to the fact that..."It just doesn't feel right!"
Well, my customer's have changed their mind's within 9 month's of purchasing a property from me, WOW! but they called me back to help them again!  Wonderful!
I'M TOTALLY HAPPY THAT THEY LOVED ME ENOUGH TO CALL ME TO RESELL...

friends: The gift of life...would you consider giving your organs??? - 05/28/08 07:43 PM
As a survivor of cancer.  I have many friends who need organs in order to live.
I have patients who need kidney transplants (there are over 50K people in need), and there are people who need partial liver transplants, partial lung transplants, heart transplant's ( from individual's who have been in unfortunate car accident's), etc.
What does your license say?  Would you consider giving your healthy organ's if you were in an accident?
You have to be healthy, without disease, without cancer.
Have you talked to your family, friends and children about giving someone else the chance of life, if in … (4 comments)

friends: What is Active Rain and how does it help you? - 05/23/08 11:03 PM
Why should you use Active Rain (AR)? I know, it's a strange name for a Real Estate blog and site.
I would have never "googled" this as a Real Estate networking site.
If I hadn't learned about this through my current broker, I would have thought this site was for the "Rain forest saviors!"
So, Why did they call this site, "Active Rain" and how did Active Rain end up as a great Real Estate site...
I'm still not sure.  There are a few original poster's here who can probably tell us...
So, my other question is, how does the general … (8 comments)

friends: Sweet Devotion.... - 12/27/07 09:57 PM
Yes, that's what I said...Sweet devotion...
whether it be a church service (my Christmas Eve Service in PA was awesome!), or be it the SWEET DEVOTION to our customers...it's still SWEET, no matter how it comes across...(if you don't agree...feel free to tell me why you don't think it is).
I don't pretend to ever have the right feelings, opinions, satire about what I post, however, I am an emotional person, if you haven't figured me out just yet. I love my family and my children without a doubt. I also love (I know it's a stong word, but I do) the comfort … (5 comments)

friends: My attitude!!!Yep, that's right, it's mine...feel free to join in!!! - 12/27/07 09:11 PM
We are here today. We have enjoyed our families over the Holiday Season.  We hope everyone is healthy, wealthy and wise.
We hope there are no secrets. We hope we know that everyone in our immediate families are in good health and if they are not, that they would trust us enough to share their worries and concerns with us. Some might think, well, I'll wait until the Holidays are over. Can you read the writing on the wall, can you read your families feelings, can you read your close friends feelings?
Tough thought...give it a few minutes....look back into the eyes of … (5 comments)

friends: What do the Holiday's mean to you? - 12/12/07 07:43 PM
What do you do during the Holidays? Is it about gifting, is it about family and friends, or is it about celebrating your faith?
Do the presents mean anything, or is it just it tradition?
What is your tradition? What is something special that your family does during the Holidays?
Is it important to spend money on gifts, or is it more important for family gatherings?
I love to see my family, presents do not matter to me...I am just happy to have them to hug and hold...
Gift's are nice, but do we really need them...I don't want presents, I want QUALITY TIME with my family...
HOW DO … (6 comments)

friends: Love, family, new friends on AR. Success in 2008...Karma, my friends, karma...think positive....I do! - 12/10/07 11:27 PM
I have read about so many families who have relatives with health issues during this Holiday Season. It doesn't matter how many kind words that we say, the pain of the situation is still there. We can offer comment, send virtual hugs, pray...it still doesn't ease all the pain.
There are a few friends on here who had been having some health issues that have posted here on AR, that haven't been active...to you my new friends...I hope you are well, if not...here's my Karma...have a Great Christmas, find the strength I'm sending you and enjoy...I hope I'm drained by the end … (7 comments)

friends: Life, love it! Trust? Where did life go wrong??? - 12/06/07 11:12 PM
Why not? Isn't life grand? We are here for a reason...all of us. We have a purpose...We have a chore...
We are here to help a friend.
We are here to give pennies to a person on the street not as fortunate as us...
We are here to say a prayer for our friends.
We are here to buy a newspaper on the street corner for a few cents.
We are here to help our neighbor.
We are all here for some good reason...
G*d created us as equals, no religion, just equals,
in my opinion, if things were the same as they were a long time ago...

friends: Feelings... - 12/05/07 09:32 PM
I have read a few blogs tonight about our fellow real estate agents who are in need of prayers. I don't want to call them out, but my point here is...There is a great family here. For fellow agents to pour out their souls to us, (maybe the only family they may have) is awesome...awesome in the fact that there is trust.
They are so down, they may not have a private family, but they hope they have US! AND THEY DO!
United we can help our co-workers with support, not sympathy - I say that because they don't want that. They … (16 comments)

friends: Do you want to go the the yacht club? - 12/05/07 08:05 PM
I met a wonderful lady today as I was getting my hair done. She was having her hair done as well. Because I was having high lights I was not dressed as I am (typically to the 9's).
We chatted for a while and then, SHE POSED THE QUESTION...Which was, "SO, WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?"
Well after listening to her talk about how bad the market was and how bad her friends thought the market was...I CHANGED HER MIND!
My comments to her were as follows. Do you watch the news? YES. Do you like what you are hearing? … (11 comments)
