puget sound: A Positive Attitude - Yes It Works - 01/05/09 05:53 PM
I'd like to share with you my experience with a referral here on Active Rain. I was one of the "first original rainers" and living in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle area) I was honored to meet many of the staffers of AR on many occasions. A year ago I received a referral from Sarah Nopp, a RE/MAX Agent in Olympia, WA which is about 50 miles from my home town of Everett. Sarah had been following me on Active Rain and we chatted a few times on line. Sarah had a client, relocating from Hawaii, that wanted to be near the

puget sound: Everett's Secret Jewel - 07/28/08 05:45 PM
Not a prettier place on earth on a hot sunny day; can you imagine - no phones, no cars, no shops, no driving to it - only access is by boat - ---------- I'm talking Jetty Island. Jetty Island is a man-made island that serves as a sanctuary for 45 species of birds and wildlife including, gulls, ospreys, juvenile salmon and occassionally the sighting of a rare bald eagle. There are elderberry bushes growing wild, scotch bloom and rye grass abound. Jetty Island is two miles long and half a mile wide. There is a discovery hut that holds samples of the

puget sound: Everett's Wierd Weather - 02/28/07 11:04 AM
Well, someone said "spring is just around the corner". Not here in the Pacific Northwest. There is a cold front moving in today that will be dropping SNOW FLAKES in the low lands, particularly, Everett as we are in the convergience zone! As I look out my office window, it's 8:55 AM and the flakes are as large as silver dollars! And with all the evergreen trees we have it, it coats them like pictured here. We are expecting trace to 3" here today with freezing temperatures tonight; however, don't get the sled out yet, by Friday, it will warm into the 50's. So

puget sound: Seattle Weather - 09/13/06 10:52 AM
Ok, all this talk about an AR get together in Seattle sounds fun. However, someone did "flip a switch" and it seems winter has set in. After a glorious summer of 75 and sunny, the weatherman is predicting 60 degrees and rain for the next 10 days. So you "sun bunnies" that want to come play with us will have to deal with what we dish out when you're here. The good news is, stick around, because the weather changes at the spin of your head. However, we are very proud of our city and all it has to offer. Mountains to

puget sound: "It Takes A Village" - 07/19/06 12:34 PM
Everett is home to the Boeing Plant, the worlds largest covered building. Their newest concept, the 787 Dreamliner, is beginning production. However, Boeing is trying a new method this time. They are turning over most of the work to it's suppliers and together with them has set up a global assembly line with factories on three continents. The Dreamliner will begin its journey in Nagoya, Japan, continue on to Italy, then to a shop in Charleston, South Carolina before coming to the Everett plant where the unique work will be finished. Boeing officials said they expect to hire 850-1200 people to work

puget sound: The Great Pacific Northwest - 07/09/06 12:01 PM
We are so lucky to live in a wonderful location. As in real estate the key words are location, location, location; I think the same is true in our every day life. Just look around you, tall evergreens, blue sky, Puget Sound, mountains, snow capped peaks dot our landscape. Even the rainy days are great. Farmer's Market, concert on the piers, fabulous restaurants, a budding downtown that is growing with waterfront opportunities, an event center that rivals large town centers, a beautiful naval base of which we can be proud, do we take these for granted? The fun part is you don't know
