I just wrote a blog criticizing a couple of real estate agents in my local market.  The criticism was based on actual experiences and it was interesting the response I received from some of the real estate agents that contribute to this ActiveRain community.  It does seem that when any agent is criticized then the rest of the agents come to their rescue.  I was a little disappointed in the responses, because I clearly thought that they'd be better responses as to how they personally market a clients home.  Was the lack of response based on fear that trade secrets would … (7 comments)

MY big beef with Real Estate Agents - 02/05/07 11:52 AM
I've been one of the largest critique of what listing agents do to sell a home.  I've personally had two horrible experiences with agents, and frankly wonder if any of them really know how to sell a home.  Now to set the table, I'm a lowly mortgage loan officer, so how would I know anything about selling a home!!  But bottom line, I get questioned by real estate agents all the time about my fee's, and frankly the real estate agents then need to justify theirs as well.

Preparing my seminar I remembered a concept that I heard from another seminar that I attended.  Basically they set the stage by drawing two circles.  The first circle represented all the information that we "Know" and what "We don't know".  Then he drew a circle that represented what "we don't know that we don't know".  It almost seemed comical at the time and during those tender years I don't think I completely got what they were trying to say.  But times have changed and I'm planning on starting the seminar with the following quotes.
