This is a good question if you read today's headlines.  Jeff Belonger also wrote a great article about Deflation and Inflation and why we should be worried about a deflationary depression.  The big difference between 1929 and today is who will be in charge of the government over the next four years.
My worry right now is that we're actually going to see a inflationary spiral that we haven't seen except in third world countries in the 1980's.  When I was a teenager, I remember news reports of Argentina or Mexico going through incredible inflationary spirals.  I also remember studying post … (2 comments)

The Fair Housing Administration as part of the stimulus package that has been just passed, has raised limits in some markets to fantastic limits.  In reality, how many of these home owners can qualify with FHA guidelines, and what type of credit do these borrowers need to attain these loans.  Both questions are important, because limited information that's been available is now suggesting that there will be a number of conditions imposed by the lenders.  But these same lenders will also benefit from the protection these loan provide through FHA and the government.

Actually I'm not angry at Jeff, I appreciate his newest post in regards to closing costs with mortgage loans.  I totally agree that the current system is flawed!  The biggest problem with closing cost's is everyone has an excuse why it can't be fixed.  The big problem that most mortgage professionals no is (YSP) Yield service premium!
This is one of my biggest pet peeves and frankly there needs to be something done as soon as possible.  Should the burden be placed on just brokers?  Absolutely not!  The real culprit in this mess are the banks.  Frankly full disclosure should be included … (3 comments)
