Black Sea bass season reopened on Monday, November 1st and will go through December 31st. Many area party-boats, including Carolyn Ann III out of Barnegat, went jigging for striped bass yesterday afternoon with a handful of customers. They caught bass to 23 pounds and large bluefish.
The black sea bass is a type of Grouper found more commonly in northern than in southern ranges as it inhabits the entire East Coast. They can sometimes be found in inshore waters like Barnegat Bay and off The Jersey Shore in waters up to a depth of 425 feet. They spend most of their … (2 comments)
