2 Quick Facebook Tips to Gain Exposure - 06/26/11 10:57 PM
Not only are these awesome tips, but Jay is a great guy.  I couldn't get mine to work and he helped me out and I thought that was fabulous.  These two small things I think are huge, huge positive uses of social media.  See, look to the right of my blog, my facebook link is there for all to "like."  And if you come back you'll see me using Jay's idea of photos as well.  Thanks again, Jay - Kasey

Homeowners, Watch Out For Scams! - 06/24/11 11:47 PM
It is unbelievably unfortunate that we always have to be mindful of new and different scams that are out there.  We've all heard about scams like the Prince of Nigeria who has a million dollar inheritance for us to come claim, or we've gotten an email from someone we know that says they are overseas and and "they" tell us that they are stuck over there and need money.  Yet, people do still fall for these scams, whether it is out of ignorance or kindness of heart.
The housing sector seems to be an industry wrought with scams.  A new one … (8 comments)

Paint the Town in Boise! - 06/09/11 11:07 PM
Every year here in Boise, Idaho our community participates in a service called Paint the Town.  I am sure that other areas around the nation do this as well or have some similar projects for the community like this.
This year the Boise community is doing Paint the Town on Saturday, June 11, 2011.  Last I heard they have enough volunteers for the painting portion of the project, but are still looking for monetary donations with their "Buy a Bucket" program.
If you are interested in helping make Boise, Idaho an even more beautiful city than it already is, one home … (7 comments)

Radon - Something to At Least Know About in The Boise, Idaho Area - 06/08/11 02:13 AM
Yesterday I was at an inspection with a client and we got to talking about radon.  The inspector, Troy Farmer of Presidential Inspections, was explaining to the Buyer the risks and concerns with Radon.  The buyer is from out of state and commented about the different focuses that different areas have on what inspections to get and what things to worry about.  According to my CA clients, termite inspections are huge.  While they are done here in the Boise, Idaho area as well, they are certainly not done on every home or required for a loan.  Many areas have differences and … (7 comments)

Should Real Estate Agents be in Competition or in Cooperation? - 06/08/11 02:12 AM
Should Real Estate Agents be in Competition or in Cooperation?
Of course there are times when we are in competition with one another - both of us trying to prove our worth to a prospective buyer, attempting to impress a potential seller with our fancy listing presentation that is better than that other agent, etc.  However, overall are we really competitors?  While the answer to this I believe is yes, from my experience the most successful agents are also ones that are willing to share, willing to cooperate with other agents in the spirit of bettering our industry and the professionals … (8 comments)

Are You A Short Sale Expert? Not Me. I May However Be Certifiable!! - 06/05/11 10:17 PM
This is something that John and I talk about a lot and whish that everyone was aware of.  Though designations do show that an agent has taken the time to try to get educated, and that is saying something, it does NOT make someone right for the job.  Short sales change so frequently as well that the only way to remain up to speed is to work with them constantly.  Broker Bryant said it well in this post.
