Papoose Lake, on the northeast side of Lake Arrowhead (across from the Arrowhead Lake Association/marina), came about after a study found that Arrowhead Dam could possibly be unsafe if we suffered an earthquake of a 6.5 magnitude or higher. This was brought about after 1971 Sylmar Earthquake, which caused damage to the Van Norman Dam.   A seven million dollar bond was passed, paid for by Arrowhead Woods property owners and... here we are today. Lake Arrowhead is located in The San Bernardino National Forest, approx 20 miles from San Bernardino, 90 miles from Los Angeles and 72 miles from Palm Springs. We're tucked amoung some 9,000 plus acres at an altitude of 5,108 feet.
Our lake is private and is governed by Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA), with 780 plus acres in capacity and a shoreline of approx 14 miles. Lake's depth (at maximum) is about 185 feet. Very interesting post, since most hungry Realtors are coming across this same issue... should we/they sell outside their area.

To me the correct answer is that an agent should sell where they are the expert.
I am licenced to Sell Real Estate in the Commonwealth of Virginia but that does not mean, I will sell homes anywhere in Virginia.
I will only sell homes in my area and specifically where I am an expert.
