The Federal Reserve has been purchasing mortgage-backed securities guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac since early last year.  The purchase program has helped maintain low interest rates for borrowers.  As planned, the Fed this week announced it will stop purchasing these securities at the end of this month.  Many analysts anticipate this will result in a slight rise in rates by year's end.

Foreclosures are happening everywhere and Lake Arrowhead has not been immune to this epidemic.
Foreclosure basically means that a lien holder is legally taking back the home from a mortgagor who is/has been delinquent on their mortgage payments. This is happening in every area of the country, some more than others. Buyers/investors seem to believe that these foreclosures are the "best deals" out there. I do NOT believe this is always the case. I feel quite often that you get what you pay for.
