FACTS: Some of Gone With The Wind was filmed in our local mts. (Big Bear). Remember when Scarlett went out to the lumber mill in her wagon and caused a bunch of trouble in Shanty Town? It was filmed right on our mountain.

FACTS: Recently, commericals were being filmed at the Lake Arrowhead Resort (by Time Warner). Actress and Lake Arrowhead part-time resident, June Lockhart, invites folks to come and enjoy our beautiful area. The commercial will be shown on stations: CNN, the Discovery Channel, Lifetime (and more) in Southern California over the next year.

1. EASTER EGG HUNT AT THE VILLAGE
2. DAFFODIL GARDEN IN RUNNING SPRINGS (last weekend!) I'm going Sunday... if you see me, say HI!
FACTS: An ARROWHEAD LAKE ASSOCIATION (ALA) Member, came across an old 33 1/2 record with a recording on it by a Tom Harmon and his wife Elyse, who will take you on a way-back-when story of Lake Arrowhead.' But what it really is, is a sales pitch urging folks to buy property in our Lake Arrowhead. CLICK HERE & FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS (age of the recording is unknown...BUT it's OLD).

FACTS: In April of 1979, The Village was "burned to the ground" as a learning exercise, done by the San Bernardino County Fire Departments and the Air Corps. All buildings were burned except the original dance pavilion building, the post office, bank and real estate office.

FUN: DAFFODIL GARDEN IN RUNNING SPRINGS is open to the public March 28 thru April 28 (check dates) to allow the public visit the gardens for THE LAST YEAR!!! Read all about it on the link above.
FACTS: Shirley Temple's 1937 movie, HEIDI, was filmed (much of it) in Lake Arrowhead. I am not absolutely certain of the exact location, but Strawberry Peak area (Twin Peaks) comes to mind. SEE LAKE ARROWHEAD HISTORY

FUN: About 26 miles higher than Lake Arrowhead, is our sister town, Big Bear. For a great time, and a place to let the kids experience and learn about our mountains/nature, take 'em to BIG BEAR DISCOVERY CENTER. You WON'T be disappointed.
