This beautifully restored Galveston Historic property is located just blocks from the Galveston Seawall and the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston’s largest employer. The Historic Galveston Strand district is nearby and this home is the perfect location for enjoying Galveston's Mardi Gras events and Dickens on The Strand.
This home was built in 1890 by Capt. Henry Locke and survived the notorious Storm of 1900 and all the storms up to and including Ike. Capt. Groundhog Day: The Movie, begins with Bill Murray’s character, Phil Connors who is a “weather man,” traveling to Punxsutawney with his producer (Andy McDowell) and his camera man to air his annual broadcast report on “Punxsutawney Phil,” who each year on Groundhog Day emerges to predict the coming of spring.
Phil the weather man aired his broadcast with Punxsutawney Phil predicting six more weeks of winter. When Phil and his crew finished up and headed for home, they were forced to return to Punxsutawney for the night with the roads closed due to (4 comments)
