Real Estate Trends in Clovis, NM - 01/29/09 01:24 AM
After reading the top 6 fads that are "out" according to consumer surveys at the international home builders show in Las Vegas http://styledstagedsold.blogs.realtor.org/?p=273 I thought I would give some insight on what buyers want in their newest Clovis Home. 1. Color - Nothing crazy but white walls are "out" in Clovis. Most builders are going with an eggshell sheen tan for the entire house. Flat finishes were in for a while but homeowners have found them hard to keep clean. Home sellers are painting neutral earthtones and adding splashes of color with curtains and furnishings. 2. Green Building - Eco-friendly building practices win applause from local (5 comments)
When Worlds Collide! - 01/28/09 11:05 AM
Its a tricky balancing act trying to keep an online life and one in the real world both going smoothly. Lately Ive been trying to keep up with facebook, activerain, linkedin, blogger, our online local newspaper's blog, Weichert, GenYKert, and my online leads while still keeping track of my closings coming up, my buyers looking for a property with acreage for their horses, marketing my listings and managing the office. That doesnt even account for husband, kids, games and school. I wont even mention parent, grandparents and those Christmas cards I never sent out. A while back - years ago- (3 comments)
Easy info access on the Web - will it breed a generation of laziness? - 01/20/09 08:40 PM
The Internet is wonderful. I wonder if those scientists knew when they conceived the idea that people would use the Internet to share information like how to stage a house, how to keep in touch with buddies from school, How to search for a new house in a city hundreds of miles away.... how to become a better person. Anything you need to know. My children think they have it hard because they have to wait their turn to get on the computer to look up information for a report. We had to start weeks in advance and use encyclopedias. We learned (2 comments)
Solving the worlds problems...One thing at a time - 01/20/09 01:32 PM
Of course I don't claim to know more than the aeronautical engineers, financial gurus, political analysts and middle east peacekeepers of this world but I thought I would give you the thoughts of a Realtor in New Mexico on how to solve the worlds problems. 1. The plane hit a bird... or a flock of birds and caused the engines to fail and the hero pilot safely landed in the Hudson. If they know the engine must be able to withstand sucking in a bird under 4 lbs then cant they put some big wire mesh over the front of the engine. Kind of (0 comments)
The Perfect Bridesmaid - 01/12/09 01:47 AM
After watching the movie "27 Dresses" again tonight I realized one of the reasons that I love being a real estate agent. We make the perfect bridesmaid. When I was little I used to plan the dream wedding. I would buy Brides magazines, dream about the dress I would buy, plan the menu, design the cake, promise myself never to put my bridesmaids into a dress they couldn't wear at least twice. My husband would be amazing, I would be beautiful and we would live happily ever after. I grew up a little, was struck by love at first sight, planned another (4 comments)
Flat Fee MLS - The wave of the future? or a road to destruction! - 01/10/09 06:01 PM
We have been coddled here in Clovis. All of the Realtors know the other Realtors. We know who markets best, who has the best customer service... Who to trust and who to be wary of. We know that if we present an offer to a Realtor whose property is listed in our MLS that we will be working with another professional agent who knows what happens next and will do their job until the close of the sale. Today I was looking for a property for a customer who needed some land and I came across a listing in Texico listed (6 comments)
