Sturbridge, MA - This event sounds like so much fun! Old Sturbridge Village presents its American Girl Fashion Show on November 5, 6, and 7, 2010. This favorite event features area children modeling historic and contemporary fashions for girls. Attending the American Girl Fashion Show is truly an event. Each show includes refreshments - breakfast, dinner, or tea - all created with American Girl dolls in mind. There will be an opportunity to visit the American Girl Marketplace while at the show. Sturbridge, MA - Old Sturbridge Village has again planned a wonderful holiday celebraton with its Christmas by Candlelight event. On weekend evenings in December, the Village will open in the evening and invite visitors to stroll through a town lit up for Christmas. Christmas by Candlelightprovides a glimpse of Colonial life at holiday time. Set in the early 1800's, the homes and buildings around the town common of Old Sturbridge Village will be open for a variety of celebratory activities. Sturbridge, MA: Stageloft Repertory Theater again stages its production of Night of the Living Dead, in celebration of all things creepy at Halloween. The Night of the Living Dead made its debut in 1968 as a black-and-white horror film directed by George A. Romero. The story follows a group of characters who are trapped in a farmhouse overnight and are hunted by flesh-eating ghouls. Halloween falls on Sunday, October 31, this year. In the town of Sturbridge, we have set hours for trick-or-treat, which is then followed by our annual Horribles Parade on the Town Common. The 2010 Trick-or-Treat hours for Sturbridge are from 5 to 7 pm. In my neighborhood, we usually start to see kids come around by 5:15 pm, and then things wind down by 6:30 pm so everyone can go to the Horribles Parade. But we leave our lights on until 7 pm for the odd straggler or older kid who is not (5 comments)

The Annual Harvest Festival is about to unfold in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Held at the Publick House Historic Inn and on the Town Common (Route 131), the Harvest Festival is one of Sturbridge's largest celebrations. It is estimated that over 6000 people attended in 2009. Highlights of the 2010 Harvest Festival include a pumpkin decorating contest, musical performers, a Taste of Sturbridge food sampling, local artisans and crafters, and of course the ever-popular Scarecrow Contest.
