The holiday season is in full force.  The big tree on the Town Common has been officially lighted, and the first weekend of holiday shopping is over.  But there are four glorious weeks of celebrating ahead of us.  To help you plan your days of good cheer, here is a list of holiday events happening in historic Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

A hearty congratulations to my seller clients, whose home in Wales, Massachusetts, sold on November 22, 2011.

 

This one-level Ranch style home on Mt. Hitchcock Road in Wales, Massachusetts, was a true find for the buyer.  Big rooms, contemporary styling, and a prime piece of land made this a phenomenal buy at $225,000.  I am pleased to have been able to represent the sellers of this property and to log another home sale in the books for the quaint town of Wales, Massachusetts.

So Much to be Grateful For
 
This time of year, it is second nature to stop and reflect on those people and things for which we are grateful.  This weekend in particular, the list starts with cranberries and ends with a nap in front of the fireplace, with countless entries in between.
I am in a coaching program where, at the end of each day, we are to write down 10 things that we are grateful for.  Ten!  Only ten!  I find that my list fills quickly.  I also find that I am nostalgic for the previous day's list.  So … (4 comments)

Are You Achieving Goals, or Realizing Dreams?
 
It's getting to be that time of year again.  The holidays will come and go in a flurry of activity, and then boom - it's time to buckle down, get serious, and set goals for the new year.  And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with setting and reaching goals, I'd like to suggest that you put a little punch into your goal setting this time.
Instead of merely setting goals, why not decide to tie your goals to some dreams?

Four days without power gets you thinking. Thinking about the great invention of electricity. Thinking about our dependence upon it. Thinking about survival skills. Thinking about fortitude and attitude.My family has been lucky. We have a fireplace, plenty of wood, running water, and camping equipment for cooking. Many have been less fortunate and need help from others.  Many have left their cold homes in search of hotel rooms.  (We did this for one night and decided we would rather tough it out at home.)Working has been difficult.
