sturbridge ma: Sturbridge, MA - Mandatory Water Ban July 2010 - 07/07/10 03:52 PM
Sturbridge, MA - Mandatory Water Ban July 2010 You have most likely seen the signs around town. Due to the lack of rainfall in recent weeks, the town has issued a mandatory water ban for non-essential use of water. Basically, this means no watering of lawns, gardens, washing of cars and so forth, between the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM. Why this timeframe? Quite simply, on hot dry days such as these, you can lose a good 50% of the water you may try to give to your lawn due to evaporation. Wait until the evening and early morning hours,

Real Estate Market Activity in Sturbridge, MA - Jan 1 to Jan 13, 2010 The first two weeks of the Sturbridge, MA, real estate market for January 2010 have been active. Since January 1, five single family homes have been placed under contract. These have a price range of $150,000 to $399,99 - quite a range of prices representing a fine variety of buyers. This is a great sign that home buyers are active this early in the year. The tax break incentive most likely has something to do with this. The smart, qualified first-time buyers are out there, and

sturbridge ma: Rocket Launch in Sturbridge, MA - 11/14/09 01:50 PM
Rocket Launch in Sturbridge, MA Excitement at Westville Lake Recreation Area, Sturbridge, Massachusetts. My son, who is working on a merit badge for Boy Scouts, had three successful launches of his pre-built rocket. The first launch he used a B engine, and the second and third launch he used C engines. The third launch went so far out of range, the rocket was lost to the lake. We had a great time and plenty of supportive spectators at the park. It was a fun way to end a beautiful November weekend in New England.

Ask Me About Sturbridge - C'mon, Ask Me! My name is Kathryn Acciari, and I am a resident of Sturbridge, MA. I'm also a REALTOR and dance instructor here I meet a lot of people and hear tons of news about what is going on around town. In the past year, it had occurred to me that there really was no central site where residents, and visitors, could go to find out what was happening in Sturbridge. So I spent a couple of months working through designs and learning how to build a web site. By mid-2009, AskMeAboutSturbridge.com was up and running. What type of information

Golf in October at Hemlock Ridge Golf Course in Sturbridge, MA One of the most picturesque golf courses in Central Massachusetts is located in Sturbridge. Hemlock Ridge Golf Course is set among the western hills of town, allowing for beautiful views amidst the greens. The usual golf season here runs from April 1 to November 30, and when I visited this morning, the course was busy with early risers. Not surprising, given the golden sun of the day. The course starts its tee times at 6 AM, and it appeared that several golfers were already finishing their nine holes. Hemlock

sturbridge ma: First Snow in Sturbridge, MA - 10/15/09 07:04 PM
First Snow in Sturbridge, MA Today was a significant day in the history of Sturbridge: The first snow of winter 2009-2010 arrived! I was working hard in my office this afternoon and looked out the window to see tiny flecks of white drifting through the air. Very tiny. Almost rain drops, but alas it was just cold enough to be snow. Nothing was sticking to the ground, no wicked nor'easter winds, no difficulty driving. But still the first snow of the season. Many people around town are a bit grumpy about this early arrival. But I am just thrilled. Sure, I
