market: A SHORT SALE IS ANYTHING BUT SHORT AND MAY BE VERY DISAPPOINTING - 08/18/09 08:05 AM
The first time I heard a buyer say they thought a short sale was someone who needed to sell quickly (in other words, they thought the sale would happen in a short period of time), I giggled a little. When I thought about it, I could totally understand the thought pattern. The reality is nearly the opposite....a short sale can be anything but short! The term actually refers to the current owners needing to sell and being "short" the funds it will take to pay off the lender. So, the current owners need to negotiate with their lender an alternate repayment … (3 comments)

market: ***THIS IS GREAT; NO CHARGE FOR ATTORNEY ADVISE*** - 05/05/08 06:51 AM
ATTORNEY'S ADVICE - NO CHARGE
Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to refer to it someday. Maybe we should all take some of his advice! A corporate Attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company.
1. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED."
2.. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card Accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who … (4 comments)

market: THIS IS FOR MY FELLOW REAL ESTATE PEOPLE - 12/11/07 07:57 PM
REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIMEAccording to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December.
Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.
We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a FAT man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night … (3 comments)

market: TURN BACK TIME; SHARE THIS WITH YOU; VERY INTERESTING! - 11/07/07 08:47 PM
Last Week In Review
Turning Back the Hands of Time
This weekend, the sun sets on another season of Daylight Saving Time. In case you hadn't noticed, Daylight Saving Time (DST) was actually extended this year by an entire month--it began earlier last spring and ran longer into this fall. But, alas, all good things must come to an end...and this year Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, November 4th.
The extra month that we enjoyed was actually the result of the Energy Policy Act, which was enacted by Congress back in 2005. Originally, the bill was written to extend Daylight Saving by two months, … (0 comments)

market: MY YEAR SO FAR HOW ABOUT YOUR'S! - 11/02/07 09:51 PM
[*-)]Where has the year gone? Ok; Halloween's over, now Thanksgiving and here comes the big ones; Christmas, Hanuka and New Years' I have been asked many, many times "aren't you slow in the winter". No, we are not seasonal Realtors' we work all year. Sellers' and Buyers' have to move so we have to work and advertise and show their homes, we are full service realtors not like the one that is still holding those listings in bankruptcy court. (Foxtons) We have a new developement the Court warned all Realtors do not approach the Sellers' in any way they are assets … (1 comments)

market: I AM AMAZED AT THIS! HOW ABOUT YOU? - 10/27/07 09:01 AM
This is amazing and truly just commendable in these times; that Sears is doing this; some of our military families here in New Jersey and across the country are suffering financially as well as emotionally; we should all reach out, we are at the beginning of the holiday season as we all know it. We know Sears has closed many locations; you may have to go out of your way but we should and will do it. I among others submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. Suggest we all shop at Sears and be sure … (1 comments)
