How often is it that some one sends you an email with a joke a saying or a video. Some are inane some are funny some are rude. Once in a while one really strikes a cord.While I do not generally post or forward information I recieve in emails.

While Georgina residents received theirs a while ago Durham Region, including Uxbridge, Assessment notices are scheduled to go out next week

Watch Your Mail Box starting today if you live in York Region and Nov 03 if you live in Durham Region The new assessment notices that will be part of the equation in determining your property tax bill in 2009 are in the mail. Notices of re assessment started being sent out for the week of Sept 15th thru till Nov. 17th according to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporations (MPAC) web site

Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty - Uxbridge Contributes to the Solution - 10/15/08 01:15 PM
It is appropriate that 2 days after blog action day a team of thirty medical and support staff will leave Uxbridge for Ghana as part of an International group heading for Northern Ghana. This is the second time that Uxbridge has contributed to the fight against poverty from a medical standpoint.
This years team includes Physicians, Surgeons, Dentists, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, a Chiropractor, a Child life specialist, Health Care Administrators and Volunteers.
The top four cause of death in this area are Malaria, Pneumonia, Diarrhea and Anemia which are easily preventable and easily treatable if the resources are available.

This week is the the last week of the Celebration if you have not enjoyed at least one of the events of this years Fall Festival Of The Arts your opportunities are slipping away. This weeks line up includes:

Sculpture Symposium daily till the 9th - in Centennial Park Watch the sculpture take form before your eyes.

Ontario Senior Homeowners' -- Property Tax Grant - 10/08/08 09:47 AM
If you are 64 years of age or older, own and occupy a principal residence in Ontario and paid property taxes on it in 2008 you may qualify for a grant of up to $250 in 2009. Applications for the grant will be included in your 2008 personal income tax return. The maximum grant will be increased up to $500 for 2010 and subsequent years.
 
Additional requirements for eligibility

Fire Prevention week is October 5th to October11th  this year. Did you know cooking and heating are among the leading causes of home fires in Ontario. A pot holder held too close to a lit burner or a space heater left overnight could be all it takes to to start a home fire.
